Arizona man connected by DNA to 4 slayings indicted in Ohio
CLEVELAND (AP) — Ohio authorities charged a man Thursday with aggravated murder in the 1992 slaying of a woman at a truck stop, one of four such killings they say he is linked to through DNA evidence.
Samuel Legg III, 49, was extradited in January from Arizona to face charges in the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl. He pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape at an arraignment in that case on Thursday in northeast Ohio's Medina County. Authorities say DNA also links Legg to that case.
Ohio attorney general says rape suspect tied to 4 homicides

Arizona man accused in 1997 rape case, is extradited to Ohio
CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say an Arizona man has been arrested and extradited to northeast Ohio to face charges in a 1997 cold case.
They say 50-year-old Samuel W. Legg III is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Medina County Common Pleas Court.
Authorities say Legg has been living in the Phoenix suburb of Chandler.
Police debunk alleged Girl Scout cookie money theft
WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — A Girl Scout troop leader has been removed from her post after police concluded that an alleged theft of $1,000 from a troop selling cookies at a New Jersey mall didn't happen.
Troop leader Jessica Medina told police the money was left unattended in an envelope at the Woodbridge Center Mall on Jan. 18.
Medina blamed a man accompanied by a woman with a walker for the theft. Police interviewed the pair and eliminated them as suspects.
Heavy rain, flooding causes 12 deaths in Saudi Arabia
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Saudi Arabia says 12 people have died and more than 170 have been injured this week due to flooding from heavy rain in the northwest.
The Civil Defense says Thursday that 10 people died in the area of Tabuk, one in Medina and another in the Northern Borders region. It did not say what caused the deaths.

Householder was elected House speaker Monday for the second time in his career. The Republican from Perry County received 52 votes to edge out GOP state Rep. Ryan Smith, of Gallia County. A 50-vote majority was needed for election.

MEDINA, Ohio (AP) _ RPM International Inc. (RPM) on Friday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $49.2 million.
On a per-share basis, the Medina, Ohio-based company said it had net income of 37 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, came to 52 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 66 cents per share.
Teen sentenced to life in prison for slaying of 98-year-old
MEDINA, Ohio (AP) — A 17-year-old boy has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the strangulation death of a 98-year-old Ohio woman.
Gavon Ramsay was sentenced Thursday after pleading no contest in November. A judge found him guilty of aggravated murder, gross abuse of a corpse and other charges after his plea.
The body of Margaret Douglas was discovered in her Wadsworth home in April after she had been reported missing.

Christopher Stewart entered his plea Thursday in county court. The 22-year-old Lodi man was indicted this week.

MEDINA, Ohio (AP) — Police say a 6-month-old girl found unresponsive in a car at a park in Ohio and has died.
Medina police say the baby was found unresponsive shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday in a car at Ray Mellert Park in the city about 30 miles (48 kilometers) south of Cleveland. Medina police said that the girl was transported to a hospital, but efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Police and the Medina County coroner are working together in the investigation.
