Wisconsin touts Devil’s Lake water, views as it’s named to host 2019 Big Ten Rowing Championships
In the six years since the University of Wisconsin held its first regatta at Devil's Lake State Park, Bebe Bryans has taken on something of a sales role in addition to her job as the Badgers' women's rowing coach.
She has been pitching the Baraboo park as a great and fair option for the Big Ten Conference's rowing championship, meeting some resistance along the way.

Trump welcomes college sports champions to the White House
WASHINGTON (AP) — Indoors and out, the White House was overrun with school spirit Friday as President Donald Trump welcomed college sports champions and declared them "great athletes." Too many of them to fit in one room, the teams took up positions all around the mansion for separate photo ops with the president.
In all, 18 NCAA teams attended the event at the White House; South Carolina's women's basketball team declined the invitation.
AMHERST, N.Y. (AP) — The University at Buffalo is cutting four sports programs, including baseball, in a restructuring aimed at saving the athletic department $2 million a year.
The Mid-American Conference school also is eliminating men's soccer, men's swimming and diving, and women's rowing to bring the number of teams to 16.
School President Satish Tripathi says the cuts represent the "unfortunate reality" of the university not having the resources to support 20 teams.
