Missouri’s swimming and diving coach placed on leave
COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — The University of Missouri's men and women's swimming and diving coach is on administrative leave while allegations of team management issues are investigated.
The athletic department announced the action involving Greg Rhodenbaugh on Monday but did not provide more information about the allegations.
Athletic director Jim Sterk said in a news release that student-athletes recently made officials aware of serious team management problems in the men's and women's programs.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Brown University says it has suspended its men's swimming and diving team after an investigation found multiple violations of alcohol and hazing policies.
In a statement released Friday, Brown said the team will be suspended as a student organization through May 27 and any team activity is prohibited.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Brown University has barred its men's swimming and diving team from participating in this week's Ivy League Championships as it investigates allegations of hazing.
The Gophers men’s swimming and diving team will play host to the Big Ten Championships this week. For the Gophers to improve on their fourth-place finish from last year, coach Kelly Kremer said, they will need big contributions from the youngsters on their roster.
“To be successful our freshmen will have to have a major impact,” Kremer said. “That can be a bit scary given the unknowns, but I am excited about the possibilities.”
Chartiers Valley grad Brody Schmidt taking on bigger role for Case Western Reserve swimming team
During his freshman season with the Case Western Reserve men's swimming team, Brody Schmidt had plenty of time to get acclimated to college competition. Coach Doug Milliken said the Chartiers Valley graduate did everything asked of him and performed well.
Last season, Schmidt stepped into a bigger role. One of the members of the Spartans' NCAA-qualifying 800 freestyle relay team graduated, and someone needed to fill the void.
LOWELL -- UMass Lowell junior Christoffer Hernberg has been named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month.
The native of Espoo, Finland went 5-0-0 in Hockey East games during November. He stopped 159 of 171 shots during the month. He posted a 1.84 goals against average, tops for Hockey East goalies in November, and posted a .930 save percentage.
Neyland, Fulmer entering Tennessee Athletics Hall Of Fame
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former football coaches Robert Neyland and Phillip Fulmer highlight a star-studded Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame induction class.
Tennessee announced its eight-person class Thursday.
The class also includes softball pitcher Monica Abbott, former men's swimming coach Ray Bussard, Olympic sprinter Justin Gatlin, former Colorado Rockies slugger Todd Helton, former swimmer Jeremy Linn and former women's track star Delisa Walton Myricks.

Six University of Wisconsin head coaches had their contracts extended Friday by the school's Athletic Board.
The five-year contracts for men's basketball coach Greg Gard, women's basketball coach Jonathan Tsipis, men's hockey coach Tony Granato and women's hockey coach Mark Johnson were extended through the 2021-22 season.
Wrestling coach Barry Davis and men's and women's swimming and diving coach Whitney Hite had the end dates of their three-year contracts pushed to the 2019-20 season.

Drury swimmer says hazing ended his athletic career
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Drury University officials are acknowledging hazing occurred on the men's swimming team but say they do not believe a culture of hazing exists in the school's athletic department.
Evan Petrich says hazing he endured with other freshmen in September 2015 left him with physical and mental injuries that ended his swimming career.
Princeton men’s swim team done for year after ‘vulgar’ posts
PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) — Princeton University has canceled the rest of the men's swimming and diving season after school administrators discovered that team members had posted "vulgar and offensive" material on their electronic mailing list.
The school announced Thursday that Athletic Director Mollie Marcoux Samaan told the team that it won't compete in meets scheduled against Navy on Jan. 7 and Harvard and Yale on Feb. 5. It also won't compete in the Ivy League championship in February.

William Peace adds men’s, women’s swimming
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — William Peace is adding men's and women's swimming teams and has hired Jamie Bloom as the coach of both squads.
The Division III school announced the move Tuesday and will begin competing in 2017-18.
The additions will give the school 16 intercollegiate sports. William Peace has added 10 programs since it became a co-ed university in 2012.

Loyola-New Orleans joins Mid-South Conference
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Loyola University New Orleans' swimming programs are joining the Mid-South Conference for the inaugural season for men's and women's swimming in 2016.
Mid-South Conference Commissioner Eric Ward, in a news release Wednesday, said the league's Council of Presidents unanimously approved Loyola as its 15th affiliate member and the seventh institution in the conference to sponsor swimming.
