Amadio gets 1st goal in surging LA Kings’ 5-3 win over Leafs
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Kings have climbed atop the Western Conference standings by adeptly combining their established stars with hungry young talent.
Tyler Toffoli and Michael Amadio showed off the strengths of both categories in another impressive win for the surging Kings.
Toffoli scored twice, Amadio got his first NHL goal and Los Angeles beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-3 on Thursday night for its eighth victory in 10 games.
Kempe has first career hat trick in Kings’ win over Montreal
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Adrian Kempe and Michael Cammalleri had quite the chemistry on a line with Trevor Lewis.
Kempe had his first career hat trick to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 5-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night, giving them their best six-game start (5-0-1) in franchise history.
Cammalleri, a healthy scratch the previous two games, scored twice and the line finished with 10 points and a bunch of hats on the ice.
Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon was already talking about getting aggressive in the free agent market.
Now he has some extra room to do that.
Florida was one of several teams to buy out a player in the last chance this offseason, clearing salary-cap space for the start of free agency Saturday.
Wood scores twice to help Devils beat struggling Flyers 4-1
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Miles Wood put on a show against his favorite player.
Wood scored twice, Keith Kinkaid stopped 35 shots and the New Jersey Devils beat the slumping Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 on Saturday night.
Wood wore Claude Giroux's No. 28 in prep school and college. The star Flyers center went without a point while the Devils rookie recorded the first multigoal game of his career.
"That's why I play," he said. "It's always fun to be in these types of games."
Devils spoil Hurricanes’ home streak with 3-1 win
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — It had been 54 days since the Hurricanes had lost in regulation at home.
The New Jersey Devils just seem to have Carolina's number.
Adam Henrique, Michael Cammalleri and Kyle Palmieri each had a goal and an assist, leading the Devils to an easy 3-1 win over the Hurricanes on Tuesday night.
Kinkaid stars as Devils beat Capitals in shootout
WASHINGTON (AP) — Keith Kinkaid got plenty of pucks to break in his new pads and put them to good use in winning a rare start.
The backup goaltender made 43 saves and stopped two attempts in the shootout, helping the New Jersey Devils beat the Washington Capitals 2-1 on Thursday night. Playing in just his ninth game of the season and for the first time since Dec. 17, Kinkaid had one of the best outings of his career.
Cammalleri’s 2nd of game lifts Devils past Predators in OT
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Michael Cammalleri deflected all the credit for his big overtime goal to teammate Taylor Hall.
Cammalleri's second goal of the game with 18 seconds remaining on the clock in the extra period capped New Jersey's comeback from three goals down in the third period and gave the Devils a 5-4 win over the Nashville Predators on Saturday.
Cammalleri gets hat trick, Devils beat Hurricanes 4-1
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Michael Cammalleri made up for lost time Sunday night.
Cammalleri got his first three goals of the season, lifting the New Jersey Devils over the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1 for their first road victory.
"It was nice to get them to hit the back of the net," Cammalleri said.
Cammalleri scored twice in the second period and again midway through the third for his sixth career hat trick. Captain Andy Greene scored into an empty net for New Jersey.
Panthers’ Huberdeau hurt in win over Devils
WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Jonathan Huberdeau left with an apparent left leg injury during the Florida Panthers' 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night.
As Huberdeau turned away from a check behind New Jersey's net, the skate of Devils center Sergey Kalinin appeared to come down on Huberdeau's left ankle. The Panthers have not offered an update on Huberdeau's status.
