PHOENIX (AP) — A man who formerly served as treasurer for the Pine-Strawberry Water Improvement District has pleaded guilty to fraud, theft and conflict of interest charges in connection with dealings with the district and the Gila County Mounted Posse.
The state Attorney General's Office says Michael Scott Greer faces between 1½ and 2½ years in prison and will pay a fine of $65,865 in addition to already paying restitution of $42,000 before he pleaded guilty Wednesday.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said in a news release that 35-year-old Michael Scott Mowdy of Savannah is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and especially aggravated robbery. He's being held without bond in the Sept. 8, 2010, death of Otylier Callens, whose body was found by Savannah police in her home.
