NEW YORK (AP) — Viewers will see two familiar faces when "Good Morning America" launches its third hour.
ABC News on Monday announced Michael Strahan and Sara Haines will co-host "GMA Day." The show is set to premiere at 1 p.m. EDT on Sept. 10.
After a successful career in the National Football League, Strahan left "Live! With Kelly and Michael" in 2016 to join "GMA" fulltime as a co-host.
As this undeniably bizarre year in America comes to a close, ABC presents “The Year: 2017,” a two-hour special airing Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET.
The network states that after covering the biggest news stories of the year, “The Year: 2017” host Robin Roberts (“Good Morning America”) and an all-star team of ABC News anchors and correspondents take a look back at the year’s historic and most memorable moments.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. opened up his legendary 18-year career in NASCAR, saying that despite retiring from competition, he hopes to "continue to be a part of the sport that I love."
"I want to continue to cover it, be a part of its health and growth," Earnhardt, 43, who will remain in the world of NASCAR as a commentator, broadcasting races from the booth next season, said in an exclusive interview with ABC News' Michael Strahan.
Ryan Seacrest cancelled GMA appearance ‘because he feared upsetting Kelly Ripa’
Ryan Seacrest reportedly cancelled a planned appearance on 'Good Morning America' because he feared upsetting Kelly Ripa.
The 42-year-old star was due to appear on the ABC show that is hosted by Michael Strahan - who used to sit alongside Kelly on her morning talk show 'Live!' - but Ryan belatedly decided to back out of his on-screen chat because he knew it would upset Kelly.

Easy does it: Kelly and Ryan kick off a new ‘Live’ season
NEW YORK (AP) — On his first appearance on the soon-to-be-rechristened "Live with Kelly and Ryan," Ryan Seacrest had something rare for someone who seems born to be on TV: butterflies.
Stepping on camera after Kelly Ripa broke the news of her new co-host last May 1, Seacrest was seized by an odd, intrusive notion: a desire "to just get invited back tomorrow."
Trust us, you’ve never heard a version of “Maneater” like this before. That’s just one of the numbers on the mobile song list for Carpool Karaoke — as performed by John Cena and Shaquille O’Neal.
The wrestling star from West Newbury and basketball Hall of Famer (and former short-term Celtics center) are two of the latest stars to get into a car (in this case, a big car), and belt out some tunes while the camera rolls.
NAPA, Calif. (AP) — After two straight seasons with All-Pro honors and winning the AP Defensive Player of the Year last season, Khalil Mack has set his goals for 2017 quite high.
He just wasn't expecting Raiders quarterback Derek Carr to make public his quest for 30 sacks, which would crush Michael Strahan's NFL record of 22 1/2 set in 2001 and might seem a bit out of reach to most outsiders.

NEW YORK (AP) — Taking a full year to name a replacement for Michael Strahan beside Kelly Ripa on the morning chat show "Live" paid off in a big way for producers, who roped in Ryan Seacrest as co-host.

NEW YORK (AP) — Alex Rodriguez is no stranger to big money. Now the former New York Yankees slugger will host a new CNBC show in which he guides financially distressed athletes.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — New York Giants safety Landon Collins has become one of those players that opposing offenses can't overlook.

Fox’s Megyn Kelly to guest-host ‘Live’ day after election
NEW YORK (AP) — She may be a little bleary-eyed, but Fox News' Megyn Kelly is booked to co-host the morning talk show "Live" with Kelly Ripa on the day after the election.
The show said it will be Kelly's first time as a co-host. "Live" has been looking for a partner for Ripa since last spring, when Michael Strahan left to join "Good Morning America."
Source: Anderson Cooper staying with CNN with new contract
LOS ANGELES (AP) — CNN anchor Anderson Cooper is sticking with the cable news network.
Cooper signed a long-term deal to stay with CNN, a person with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday. The person, who is not authorized to talk publicly about contracts, spoke on condition of anonymity.
Cooper's decision may put an end to the possibility he'll join Kelly Ripa as co-host of ABC's talk show "Live." She reportedly favored him to replace Michael Strahan, who jumped to ABC's "Good Morning America."
Michael Strahan says he and former co-host Kelly Ripa don’t communicate and he doesn’t know what their relationship is now. The newest co-anchor of “Good Morning America” got his new job amidst much controversy. After replacing Regis Philbin on “Live” four years ago, ABC/Disney, which produces both “Live” and “GMA,” made the decision to move Strahan to “GMA” without notifying Ripa. Ripa was reportedly livid. Strahan said he told Ripa himself about the transfer. Strahan said he and Ripa were friends, once, but doesn’t know what happened. Toward the end of the four years, they really weren’t communicating anyway, and his leaving shouldn’t have been a shock. Strahan said his problem was the portrayal of his abandoning the show and its people. He says he has no regrets and wishes Ripa well. As of press time no response from her yet. Strahan, his three daughters and son will soon be on the cover of People magazine after Brad and Angelina’s cover, which is out this week.

WATER MILL, N.Y. (AP) — If Kelly Ripa has a preference for who will join her as the co-host of "Live! With Kelly," she isn't saying who it is.
Ripa said Saturday that naming a favorite candidate to join her on the morning talk show would be "like telling you who my favorite child is."
Ripa spoke at a designer clothing sale to benefit ovarian cancer research in Water Mill, New York.

Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. does not like Josh Norman, and vice versa.
The rivalry was taken to another level when the Redskins signed Norman following his release from Carolina in the spring. Two of the league’s best players at their respective positions continue to trade barbs in the media as the buildup to the Giants-Washington Week 3 meeting already has managed to become the prelude to Beckham-Norman II.
STAMFORD — When Kristin Bivona watched Dick Clark host “The $25,000 Pyramid” in the 1980s, she did not imagine she would ever be a contestant.
But it happened this spring, when the lifelong Stamford woman was chosen for the latest incarnation of the classic TV game show, hosted by retired football star Michael Strahan.
“I love that show and it came up on Facebook that they were auditioning. I couldn’t get on there fast enough,” said Bivona, a science...
