Broncos’ Johnson pleads to 2 counts; DUI charge dropped
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Denver Broncos linebacker Alexander Johnson has pleaded guilty to simple possession and failure to exercise due care while driving and had a DUI charge against him dismissed.
Johnson agreed to a judicial diversion program enabling the charges to be dropped if he pays court costs and successfully completes 363 days of unsupervised probation.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Two former University of Tennessee football players were acquitted Friday of the aggravated rape charges they had been indicted on nearly 3 ½ years ago.
A jury of seven women and five men deliberated for almost 1 ½ hours Friday afternoon before finding A.J. Johnson and Michael Williams not guilty on all counts.
"We prayed, trusted in God," Johnson said afterward. "I just knew God was going to take care of it."
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former Tennessee football players A.J. Johnson and Michael Williams are going on trial to face aggravated rape charges nearly 3 ½ years after both men were indicted.
The jury selection process began Monday afternoon with lawyers for both sides interviewing potential jurors individually. That process will continue Tuesday morning.
