Panthers’ Micheal Haley enters assistance program
NEW YORK (AP) — Florida Panthers forward Micheal Haley has entered the NHL/NHL Players' Association assistance program.
The NHL and union said Friday that Haley will be away from the team while taking part in the program.
"Michael is a valued part of our team and Panthers family," Dale Tallon, the Panthers' president and general manager, said in a statement. "He has our full support as he takes the time he needs to tend to this matter."

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Florida center Micheal Haley will be away from the team indefinitely while taking part in the NHL and NHL Players Association's player assistance program for undisclosed reasons.
Haley has not appeared in either of the two Panthers' games this season.
The 32-year-old led the NHL with 212 penalty minutes last season, while scoring three goals and adding six assists. The NHL says it will have no further comment on the circumstances surrounding Haley being away from the team.

Micheal Haley scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period, and the Panthers overcame an injury to Aleksander Barkov to beat the Winnipeg Jets 6-4.
Barkov left in the second period after taking a blow to the head and did not return. Vincent Trocheck also briefly left the game in the second after being hit near the eye.
