NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Miguel Angel Jimenez won the Chubb Classic on Sunday for his seventh PGA Tour Champions title, beating Bernhard Langer and Olin Browne with a 5-foot par putt on the first hole of a playoff.
Jimenez closed with a 5-under 66 at The Classics at Lely Resort to match Langer and Browne at 13-under 200.

Jimenez birdied the first four holes and broke the front-nine record at 6-under 30 at Greystone Golf & Country Club. The Spaniard took the outright lead with a short birdie putt on No. 13 after a rain delay of 1 hour, 17 minutes.

Jimenez birdied four of the first seven holes on TwinEagles' Talon course. On his back nine, he bogeyed No. 1, eagled No. 3 and birdied Nos. 4, 7 and 8 — hitting to 2 1/2 feet on the seventh and 3 1/2 feet on the eighth.
"I did not play great, played solid," Jimenez said.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Steve Stricker shot a 10-under 63 in hot conditions Saturday to take a three-stroke lead in the Tucson Conquistadores Classic, putting him in position to win in his PGA Tour Champions debut.
Stricker is trying to become the 19th player to win in their first start on the 50-and-over and first since Miguel Angel Jimenez in the 2014 Greater Gwinnett Championship.

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Fred Couples won the Chubb Classic on Sunday for his 12th PGA Tour Champions title and first since 2014, rallying to beat Miguel Angel Jimenez at TwinEagles.
The 57-year-old Couples shot a bogey-free 5-under 67 to finish at 16-under 200 on the Talon Course, three strokes ahead of second-round leader Jimenez.

Knee injury forces Langer to withdraw from playoff opener

The 59-year-old German star pulled out before teeing off at Sherwood Country Club in the PowerShares QQQ Championship. He re-aggravated the injury at home doing routine spinning, had an MRI on Monday and wasn't able to play a practice round.
David Frost has 2 eagles in 8-under 62, leads in Calgary
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — David Frost made two eagles and shot a bogey-free 8-under 62 on Friday to take the first-round lead in the PGA Tour Champions' Shaw Charity Classic.
The 56-year-old South African player eagled the par-5 11th and 18th holes at Canyon Meadows in the round interrupted by lightning, thunder, hail and heavy rain. He was a stroke short of the tournament record of 61 set by Fred Couples in his 2014 victory and matched by Miguel Angel Jimenez last year.
