Jets place Brian Winters, Mike Catapano on season-ending IR
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have placed starting right guard Brian Winters and backup linebacker Mike Catapano on season-ending injured reserve.
The team also announced Tuesday it promoted defensive lineman Brandin Bryant and offensive tackle Donald Hawkins to the active roster.
The Jets also signed center Kyle Friend and tight end Jason Vander Laan to the practice squad.
Running back Matt Forte (knee) active for Jets vs. Dolphins
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets running back Matt Forte is active against the Miami Dolphins despite dealing with a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Forte worked out on the field before the game Saturday night and was deemed OK to play. He was a game-time decision after injuring his knee early in New York's 23-17 overtime win at San Francisco last Sunday.

Forte tore the meniscus in his right knee early in New York's 23-17 overtime win at San Francisco last Sunday.
Starting cornerback Buster Skrine is out with a concussion. Rookie Juston Burris and Marcus Williams will likely see increased snaps.
Matt Forte (knee) limited, game-time decision for Jets
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets running back Matt Forte practiced on a limited basis and will likely be a game-time decision against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night.
Forte sat out practice Wednesday with an injured right knee, but was able to participate in some of Thursday's session. That's an encouraging sign for the 31-year-old running back who leads the Jets with 792 yards rushing and seven touchdowns.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Mike Catapano was sitting in his sixth-grade music class when panic suddenly filled the room.
His instructor was distraught, having just heard that each of the towers at the World Trade Center, where one of his loved ones worked, had been hit by a plane.
"You're young, so you don't really know exactly what's happening," the New York Jets linebacker recalled of the Sept. 11 attacks. "Was it a crash? Was it an attack? You're just so confused."
Jets’ Marshall fully practices, Harris limited
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall fully participated in practice, a day after being limited because of a sore hip.
Marshall missed the Jets' third preseason game and sat out the finale, along with most other starters, because of the injury. He should be ready to play in the regular-season opener against Cincinnati on Sunday.
Jets rookie Jenkins leaves practice with calf injury
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets rookie linebacker Jordan Jenkins left practice with a calf injury, the severity of which was not immediately known.
Jenkins, a third-round draft pick out of Georgia, is considered a front-runner to open the season as a starter at outside linebacker.
