RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks are keeping a couple of key pieces from last season's playoff team while adding to their offensive line.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals' bad injury situation got worse on Wednesday when starting left tackle D.J. Humphries was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury.
The move leaves rookie center Mason Cole as the only remaining member of the offensive line that began the season, and he took over late in the preseason when starter A.Q. Shipley went down with a season-ending knee injury. Guards Mike Iupati and Justin Pugh are on injured reserve and tackle Andre Smith was released.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals' satisfaction from their stunning victory over the Packers in Green Bay has been tempered by news that rookie wide receiver Christian Kirk and starting left guard Mike Iupati are out for the season with injuries.
Kirk, who was developing into a dynamic force on offense, has a broken foot. Iupati, who has battled injuries throughout his time with Arizona, has a knee injury.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Cardinals left tackle D.J. Humphries, wide receiver Chad Williams and linebacker Deone Bucannon have been declared out of Sunday's game at the Los Angeles Chargers due to injuries.
Humphries has an ongoing knee issue, Williams an ankle injury and Bucannon a chest injury. Safety Rudy Ford (heel) also won't play against the Chargers.
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Cardinals right guard Justin Pugh was active for Thursday night's game against Denver, his injured left hand encased in a large cast-like wrap.
There were no other surprises among inactives. Broncos left guard Ron Leary (Achilles tendon) and right tackle Jared Veldheer (knee) already had been declared out, as was Cardinals left guard Mike Iupati (back) and safety Tre Boston (shoulder, ribs).
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Even stronger than usual and in the best of health, Arizona Cardinals guard Mike Iupati is mowing down everything in front of him this preseason.
"I'm just playing ball," the 6-foot-5, 331-pound left guard said after the team practiced in the heat Monday. "Taking that year off makes you appreciate football, made my body feel young again."
A triceps injury in the opener wiped out the rest of the 2017 season for Iupati.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians says starting left guard Mike Iupati will have to undergo surgery to remove a bone spur in his triceps area and is expected to be sidelined at least eight weeks.
Arians says Iupati has been trying to play through the injury but the spur has broken off and is cutting into a tendon. The coach says it needs to be repaired before the tendon is cut in half.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals finally got some good news on the injury front Wednesday, with indications that some and perhaps most of their injured players will be back for Sunday's game against San Francisco.
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Dallas running back Darren McFadden was inactive for Monday night's game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Arizona inside linebacker Deone Bucannon, given a good shot at starting by coach Bruce Arians earlier in the week, was inactive as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Carson Palmer played the first three quarters in Indianapolis out of sync. Then, suddenly in the fourth quarter, he reverted to vintage form.
Now the Cardinals need their star quarterback to stay in rhythm and keep producing so they can start building momentum after Sunday's 16-13 overtime victory at Indianapolis.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Injuries have forced the Arizona Cardinals to have new starters John Wetzel and Alex Boone on the left side of the offensive line Sunday against the Colts in Indianapolis.
Left tackle D.J. Humphries is out an estimated one to two weeks with a sprained knee and coach Bruce Arians said Friday that starting left tackle Mike Iupati won't play because of a triceps injury. The team also will be without wide receiver John Brown due to a lingering quadriceps issue.
HONOLULU (AP) — Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota has been voted the 2016 Polynesian Pro Football Player of the Year after leading the Titans to their first winning record since 2011 in his second season.
The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced the award Thursday.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Carson Palmer is spending a lot of time on his back these days, on the green grass (or fake grass) behind the Arizona line of scrimmage.
The Cardinals' quarterback is trying to operate behind a patchwork offensive line and the results have sometimes been brutal.
Continuity is always included as a crucial element to a strong offensive line. That was the case last season, when the Cardinals went 13-3.
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — New York Jets inside linebacker David Harris and Arizona Cardinals left guard Mike Iupati are inactive for Monday night's game.
Harris has a hamstring injury and Iupati is sidelined with a sprained ankle.
Also inactive for the Jets were quarterback Christian Hackenberg, quarterback Bryce Petty, wide receiver Jeremy Butler, tackle Brandon Shell and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who had been listed as questionable with an ankle injury.
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Cardinals guard Evan Mathis will miss the rest of the season because of an ankle injury.
The Cardinals placed Mathis on injured reserve Saturday, two days after he was hurt in a 33-21 victory at San Francisco. He was playing through foot and toe injuries.
The team also lost fellow starting guard Mike Iupati to an ankle injury Thursday night. Earl Watford took over at right guard for Mathis, and tackle John Wetzel replaced Iupati
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — No matter that it wasn't a work of art, the Arizona Cardinals got a much-needed victory, but they lost their two starting guards to what appeared to be serious ankle injuries.
Coach Bruce Arians said Friday that the team "was still in the evaluation process" of Evan Mathis and Mike Iupati.
