OAKLAND RAIDERS (4-12)

NAPA, Calif. (AP) — Free-agent kicker Mike Nugent has signed with the Oakland Raiders.
The team announced the move Saturday that also included waiving kicker Giorgio Tavecchio.
Nugent, 36, spent last year between Chicago and Dallas with four starts for each team. He made 11 of 13 field goals in all with a long of 55 yards while converting 4 of 5 between 40 and 49 yards. He went 15 for 17 on PATs.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Aldrick Rosas can't have a repeat of last season if he wants to remain the New York Giants' placekicker.
The 23-year-old from Southern Oregon might have been the biggest surprise of training camp last summer, making the roster as a first-year free agent. The 6-foot-3, rock-solid 233-pounder with a booming leg made almost every kick attempted in training camp to beat out veteran Mike Nugent. It was a no-brainer for then-coach Ben McAdoo and his staff.
COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Chargers have signed kicker Roberto Aguayo to a reserve/future contract.
The Chargers announced the deal Wednesday.
Aguayo was a second-round pick in 2016 by Tampa Bay, which traded up to draft the Florida State product. He was the highest-drafted kicker since Mike Nugent in 2005.
But Aguayo missed nine of his 31 field goal attempts as a rookie, and he was waived by Tampa Bay last August.
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys have released running back Darren McFadden, their leading rusher two years ago but an expendable player even with the absence of suspended star Ezekiel Elliott.
McFadden was released Sunday along with kicker Mike Nugent, who filled in when Dan Bailey missed four games with a groin injury. Bailey returned for the 28-6 Thanksgiving loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas' third straight without Elliott.
The Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons will have top receivers Dez Bryant and Julio Jones, respectively, active for the NFC matchup.
Bryant (knee/ankle) and Jones (sore ankle) missed practices on Wednesday and Thursday before returning on Friday.
Jones was not included on Atlanta's final injury report, while Bryant was listed as questionable.
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — A week after trying out for Washington, Mike Nugent will kick against them Sunday with the Dallas Cowboys.
Nugent didn't get the job with the Redskins, so instead he'll fill in for Dan Bailey, the most accurate in NFL history among kickers with at least 100 attempts.
The Cowboys don't know how long Bailey will be out after he injured his right groin — he's a right-footed kicker — in last week's 40-10 win at San Francisco.
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals signed fifth-round pick Jake Elliott to their practice squad Sunday, giving them two kickers in the locker room.
Elliott lost the competition with veteran Randy Bullock for the job and was waived Saturday. He cleared waivers and stayed with Cincinnati.
Bullock missed one field goal during the preseason games, while Elliott missed three. Coach Marvin Lewis said the final decision wasn't a close call.
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals decided to stick with kicker Randy Bullock on Saturday, the most important decision they had to make in their roster moves before the season opener.
Bullock competed with fifth-round pick Jake Elliott during the preseason, alternating kicks during the four games. Bullock missed one field goal attempt, Elliott missed three. Both missed their final attempt during a preseason game in Indianapolis on Thursday night.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — The New York Giants have decided to give Aldrick Rosas some competition for the placekicking job.
The Giants signed 13-year veteran Mike Nugent on Tuesday in a move to up the pressure on the 22-year-old Rosas, who has never kicked in a regular-season NFL game.
CINCINNTI BENGALS (6-9-1)
OPEN CAMP: July 27, Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati.
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals drafted a kicker who excelled at one of the things they missed most last year. Jake Elliott was perfect on extra points during his career at Memphis, a remarkable feat given the vagaries in the college game.
He showed up for the start of rookie minicamp on Friday knowing he's a perfect fit.
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals signed kicker Randy Bullock to a two-year deal on Thursday, giving him an opportunity to compete for the job next season.
Bullock filled in for the last three games last season after Mike Nugent was released. Bullock would have become an unrestricted free agent.
Bullock made five of his six field-goal attempts, with his only miss costing the Bengals a last-second win in Houston. He made all six of his extra-point attempts.
CINCINNATI (AP) — Randy Bullock had just arrived home in Houston — unemployed after the Steelers released him — and was doing his laundry when one of Pittsburgh's biggest rivals called.
The kicker tossed his clothes in the dryer and packed them again, this time for a trip to Cincinnati.
And in his first game with a tiger-striped helmet, he'll be trying to take the Steelers down.
CINCINNATI (AP) — After sticking with kicker Mike Nugent during the worst slump of his 12-year career, the Bengals gave up on him Tuesday and acquired former Steelers kicker Randy Bullock off waivers.
Nugent was 23 of 29 on field-goal attempts and missed five of his past nine extra-point tries. He missed an extra point — caused partly by a bad snap — and a 36-yard field goal during a 23-10 win in snowy Cleveland on Sunday. He also made a 44-yard field goal.
CINCINNATI (AP) — Andy Dalton's most important passes didn't even make it past the line of scrimmage. Mike Nugent missed another extra point.
And the Bengals lost yet another game in throwback fashion, making every sort of mistake.
Heading into December, it's clear they've bungled their season away, too.
A 19-14 loss in Baltimore on Sunday left the Bengals (3-7-1) pretty much finished for 2016.
They're 2½ games behind Baltimore (6-5) and Pittsburgh (6-5) with only five left.
The idea was to put some excitement into NFL extra points. On Sunday, it became unwise to head to the fridge when the kickers came in.
A dozen times in Week 11, those 1-pointers became no-pointers. Blame the swirling winds. Blame the suspect blocking. Blame sloppy holding.
The Latest on the 11th Sunday of the NFL season. (all times Eastern):
So now it's a dirty dozen.
A record 12th failed extra-point attempt Sunday came at night, when Washington Redskins kicker Dustin Hopkins put one off the right upright in the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers.
There had never before been more than 10 blown PATs in a single NFL week during the Super Bowl era until this one day of pulls, hooks and blocks.
NFL kickers missed like never before Sunday, setting a record with 12 failed extra point attempts.
Kickers missed left, right, had kicks blocked and hit the uprights. Kickers missed in the wind and indoors. It's the most misses in one week since the NFL merger.
CINCINNATI (AP) — A.J. Green's right foot caught the turf as he was tackled on Cincinnati's first pass attempt. He rolled over onto his back and immediately grabbed his right hamstring.
And he stayed down.
In that moment, the Bengals knew the game — and their season — had taken a turn.
NEW YORK (AP) — It is called football, after all. And in Week 1 of the NFL season, the kicking game has been critical, from the season opener on Thursday night through the finale of Sunday's first full day of action.
Matt Prater knocked his 43-yard field goal through to lift Detroit past Indianapolis, his 13th winning or tying field goal with under 4:00 to play in the fourth quarter or in overtime.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Andy Dalton got hit hard by the New York Jets, early and often. In the end, the quarterback and the rest of the Cincinnati Bengals were the ones standing.
Mike Nugent kicked a 47-yard field goal with 54 seconds left, lifting the Bengals to a back-and-forth 23-22 season-opening victory Sunday.
Dalton threw for 366 yards and a touchdown, but was sacked a career-high seven times by the Jets, including 2 1/2 by Leonard Williams and two by Steve McLendon.
