BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — One person is dead after a train hit a truck at a railroad crossing in southwest Montana.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Jeff Sargent says the accident happened Thursday morning between Belgrade and Manhattan, northwest of Bozeman. The victim was identified as 46-year-old William Terry, of Belgrade.
Sargent says the truck was headed south over a railroad crossing when the passing train hit it, and Terry was pronounced dead at the scene.

The air base says 25-year-old Staff Sgt. Anthony James Dean was assigned to the 69th Maintenance Squadron. Authorities say Dean, his 25-year-old wife Chelsi Dean and their two daughters, 5-year-old Kaytlin and 20-month-old Avri, were killed in the Thanksgiving crash .

The Montana Highway Patrol says the driver slowed down and tried to swerve but was unable to avoid hitting the girl. Officials say the girl was crossing the road at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday before the bus had stopped and activated its warning lights.
Woman struck and killed on Blackfeet Reservation
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — A woman who was standing in the road on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation was struck and killed by a vehicle whose driver didn't stop.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the collision happened at about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday in the town of Starr School, northwest of Browning.
Officials say the vehicle struck the woman as she stood on Starr School Road and dragged her until the vehicle made a turn.

Man dies when pickup chasing deer rolls in field
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — A pickup truck reportedly chasing deer in a field in northeastern Montana overturned, killing an 18-year-old man and injuring three others.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the 19-year-man driving the pickup Wednesday morning north of Frazer turned too quickly, causing the pickup to roll. It came to rest on the passenger side, trapping one of the occupants.
The victim died at the scene. His name has not been released.
Central Montana rancher dies in ATV crash
JUDITH GAP, Mont. (AP) — Officials in Wheatland County have released the name of a central Montana rancher who died in an all-terrain vehicle crash near Judith Gap.
The sheriff's office says 42-year-old Chad Olson of Judith Gap died in the accident Wednesday morning.
The Montana Highway Patrol says Olson was moving cattle in a ditch when the ATV overturned as he tried to return to the road. The patrol says the ATV landed on top of Olson.

Vehicle, volleyball team bus collide south of Plentywood
PLENTYWOOD, Mont. (AP) — The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating after a vehicle turned in front of a school bus carrying members of northeastern Montana high school volleyball team, causing a collision.
The patrol says the bus carrying Plentywood volleyball players and coaches was northbound late Saturday afternoon when a southbound vehicle made a left-hand turn in front of the bus. The bus pushed the car off the road at an intersection about 15 miles south of Plentywood.

ENNIS, Mont. (AP) — A 59-year-old Belgrade man has been killed in a motorcycle crash in southwestern Montana that left his female passenger injured.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the accident occurred just before 3 p.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 287 in Madison County. The motorcycle left the road, went into a gravel pit and hit a small ditch that threw the riders into the air.

THREE FORKS, Mont. (AP) — A 12-year-old Montana boy has died in an ATV accident in Gallatin County.
The victim was identified by the county coroner as Ty Kendall of Belgrade.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the incident occurred Sunday near Three Forks when the ATV the victim was riding rolled while negotiating a curve. The boy was trapped underneath the vehicle for about two hours before someone else found him.
Coroner identified teens killed in crash near Lewistown
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A Montana coroner has identified the two 17 year olds that were killed in a crash outside of Lewistown in central Montana.
A statement by the coroner for Fergus and Petroleum counties R.J. "Dick" Brown says Emily Ruth Kaufman of Hamilton and Elizabeth G. Mentzer of Lewiston both died after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 87 Monday near Torgerson's agricultural equipment business.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A 75-year-old northeastern Montana man died in an all-terrain vehicle crash on a dirt road west of Plentywood.
The Montana Highway Patrol says the man was driving a side-by-side ATV around a curve at about 7 p.m. Tuesday when he crossed the center line. He overcorrected and went off the road, causing the ATV to roll.
Trooper Steven Nard says the man was thrown from the ATV and died at the scene. His name hasn't been released.

BUTTE, Mont. (AP) — The Butte-Silver Bow County coroner, who is running for justice of the peace, was arrested over the weekend for driving under the influence.
The Montana Standard reports Lee LaBreche was pulled over by a Montana Highway Patrol trooper for speeding in Butte at about 4 a.m. Sunday. He was cited for DUI, speeding and having an open container. The charges are misdemeanors.
