GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay outside linebacker Za'Darius Smith, who was questionable with a knee injury, is active and will start against Philadelphia.
CHICAGO (AP) — To open its celebration of its 100th season, the NFL got a throwback to, well, the 1920s.
You know, one of those knock-down, dragged-out defensive confrontations that ends up...
Green Bay receiver Davante Adams is active against Dallas on Sunday, 10 days after he was taken off the field on a stretcher following a helmet-to-helmet hit that led to a suspension for Chicago linebacker Danny Trevathan.
Packers running back is Ty Montgomery inactive after sustaining broken ribs in the win over the Bears. Left tackle David Bakhtiari (hamstring) is out against the Cowboys, but right tackle Bryan Bulaga (ankle) is active.
ATLANTA (AP) — Green Bay starting offensive tackles David Bakhtiari (hamstring) and Bryan Bulaga will not play against the Atlanta Falcons.
Also included on the Packers' list of inactives is backup tackle Jason Spriggs.
Kyle Murphy and Adam Pankey are Green Bay's other backup tackles.
Linebacker Ahmad Brooks (concussion) also is out for Green Bay.
Falcons rookie backup running back Brian Hill (ankle) will not play. He was the only player on Atlanta's final injury report of the week.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers have released Jacob Schum, leaving Justin Vogel as the only punter on the roster.
Vogel was undrafted out of Miami this spring and signed with the Packers as a free agent. Schum didn't participate in the Packers' first open OTAs on May 23 because of a back injury.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers have signed linebacker Vince Biegel, their first of two fourth-round draft picks who played in college at Wisconsin and grew up in the state.
Biegel's deal was done Wednesday, putting eight of the team's 10 draftees under contract. Defensive tackle Montravius Adams (third round, Auburn) and running back Jamaal Williams (fourth round, BYU) remain unsigned.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — What a day for Montravius Adams.
First he became a father after his girlfriend gave birth to their first child, son Montravius Adams, Jr., at about 2:30 p.m. Friday. About eight hours later, life changed again for the 6-foot-4, 300-pound Adams as the Auburn defensive lineman was drafted in the third round by the Green Bay Packers.
"Man, there (are) really no words I can say," Adams said. "I'm just thankful for the blessings."
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — When Carl Lawson finished drills at Auburn's pro day, he'd wait to slap hands with the next guy in line, Montravius Adams.
The two defensive linemen remain in lockstep with each other after finishing their Auburn careers with their strongest seasons, together going through the NFL combine and Friday's workouts for NFL scouts and coaches.
The Auburn Tigers, who already have a new quarterback contender on campus, appeared to shore up other key positions of need in a Top-10 recruiting class.
Trying to replace defensive linemen Carl Lawson and Montravius Adams, coach Gus Malzahn landed a big signing day pledge Wednesday from four-star end Markaviest Bryant. QB Jarrett Stidham is among the mid-year enrollees available to go through spring practice.
