UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Jonquel Jones had 27 points and 10 rebounds, and the Connecticut Sun beat the Dallas Wings 96-76 on Tuesday night to spoil the head-coaching debut of Taj McWilliams-Franklin.
McWilliams-Franklin was named interim coach on Sunday after Fred Williams was fired.
Connecticut (19-13) has won seven of eight, and it is fourth in the playoff standings.
Thomas scores 30 as Sun cruise past Aces, 109-88
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Jasmine Thomas scored a career-high 30 points, including five 3-pointers, to help the Connecticut Sun cruise to a 109-88 win over the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.
The game was the first for the Aces after they decided not to play in Washington on Friday night because of travel woes that took the team nearly 26 hours to get to D.C. That game was canceled and the teams are still waiting for the league to decide what to do with the game.
Morgan Tuck scores 15, Sun beat Lynx 83-64
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Morgan Tuck had 15 points on Sunday night and the Connecticut Sun pulled even in the WNBA standings with the Minnesota Lynx with an 83-64 win.
The Sun (12-10) scored 13 straight points to lead 75-48 and had their largest lead at 82-51 with 5:26 left in the fourth quarter.
Mercury win 7th straight, 89-72 over Sun
PHOENIX (AP) — Diana Taurasi had 19 points, DeWanna Bonner added 15 and the Phoenix Mercury beat the Connecticut Sun 89-72 on Saturday night to extend their winning streak to seven games.
The Mercury (9-3) have the longest active streak in the WNBA and matched the 1998 and 2014 teams for the best start in franchise history.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Nneka Ogwumike scored a season-high 29 points, Candace Parker had 20 points, nine rebounds and six assists, and the Los Angeles Sparks beat the Connecticut Sun 87-77 on Thursday night.
NEW YORK (AP) — The Connecticut Sun have made the most of a brutal early season schedule.
Connecticut spent 17 of 19 days on the road and had to play Minnesota three times in the first 10 games and yet the Sun are sitting at .500. They started the season 0-4 and have won five of six despite missing starters Morgan Tuck — knee bruise — and Alex Bentley — EuroBasket tournament. Connecticut also has been without its top post reserve as Lynetta Kizer is dealing with a back issue.

Seimone Augustus added 16 points, including nine in the third quarter, for the Lynx (4-0).
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Shenise Johnson scored eight of her 13 points in the fourth quarter, including a go-ahead jumper with 46 seconds remaining, and the Indiana Fever rallied to beat the Connecticut Sun 81-79 on Saturday night.
The Fever (1-2) ended a streak of four straight losses in home openers while also giving Pokey Chatman her first victory as Indiana's coach.
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Tiffany Hayes hit 11 of 12 free throws and finished with 19 points, including a late 3-pointer, and the Atlanta Dream held off the Connecticut Sun 81-74 on Saturday night in the season opener for both teams.
Bria Holmes added 15 points, Layshia Clarendon had 14, and Damiris Dantas 13 for Atlanta.
Sun rookie Morgan Tuck to have season-ending knee surgery
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut Sun rookie forward Morgan Tuck will miss the rest of the WNBA season because of a left knee injury.
The Sun said Thursday that Tuck will have surgery to repair torn cartilage. She was injured Sunday in a loss at Atlanta.
The third overall pick has appeared in 26 games, averaging seven points for the last-place Sun (10-17).
