Delaware County's coroner says Vincent Gibbons was pronounced dead at the scene about 5:30 a.m. Thursday in the city about 35 miles (56 kilometers) northeast of Indianapolis.
Firefighters called to the brick house about 3:45 a.m. found flames inside and were told by neighbors that a family of three, including a child, lived there.

The bank, based in Muncie, Indiana, said it had earnings of 85 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 82 cents per share.

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) _ MutualFirst Financial Inc. (MFSF) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $5.3 million.
On a per-share basis, the Muncie, Indiana-based company said it had net income of 61 cents. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were 62 cents per share.
The holding company for MutualBank posted revenue of $26.8 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $21.8 million.

Former Muncie official sentenced to 2 years for corruption
MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — A federal judge has sentenced Muncie's former building commissioner to two years in prison for money laundering and wire fraud.
Craig Nichols also was sentenced Tuesday to three years of supervised release and ordered to pay nearly $218,000 in restitution to the City of Muncie, the Muncie Sanitary District and developer Dannar Construction.
Nichols pleaded guilty last July in an agreement in which prosecutors dismissed more than 30 other charges.

SELMA, Ind. (AP) — Police say an 84-year-old woman was struck and killed while walking along an eastern Indiana highway Christmas night.
The Delaware County Sheriff's Department says the woman was standing in the roadway of four-lane Indiana 32 a short distance from her home near the community of Selma. Officials say she was hit by a pickup truck about 8 p.m. Tuesday east of Muncie.

The Muncie City Hall closed before lunch Monday when a visitor infested with bedbugs entered an auditorium. Spokeswoman Sarah Beach says employees were sent home while pest control pros treated the entire building.

2 Indiana men indicted in Nebraska pharmacy robberies
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Two Indiana men have been charged in federal court with robbing Nebraska pharmacies for prescription drugs.
A news release Wednesday from federal prosecutors says 23-year-old Javonn Lewis, of Indianapolis, is accused of robbing a Lincoln pharmacy in March, and 19-year-old Michael White, of Muncie, Indiana, is accused of robbing an Omaha pharmacy in February. Both are charged with two counts: robbery and robbery involving controlled substances.

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — An Illinois-based metal components manufacturer has decided to close a central Indiana factory, cutting the jobs of 130 workers.
JD Norman Industries says in an Indiana state government filing that it will shut down the Muncie factory and terminate all its jobs by the end of December. The company based in the Chicago suburb of Addison didn't give a reason for the factory closing.
AG files complaints against 3 nurses after drugs diverted
MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — The Indiana attorney general's office has accused three nurses of diverting prescription drugs or medication from their workplaces.
The Palladium-Item reports Sunday that administrative complaints have been filed against the nurses and that disciplinary action is being sought against their licenses.

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — Riley Neal passed for 402 yards and four touchdowns — two in the first quarter — and ran for another score as Ball State walloped Kent State 52-24 in a Mid-American Conference opener for both teams on Saturday.
His 402 yards was a career-best in a single game for Neal and the seventh 400-yard passing game in the program's history, first since 2013.
