MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Officials are holding a meeting Tuesday to discuss relocating South Carolina's historic main highway into Myrtle Beach.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation wants to move the final few blocks of U.S. 501 into Myrtle Beach where it curves into U.S. 17 Business near the old Pavilion.

Coroner Robert Edge tells the Sun News of Myrtle Beach that 51-year-old Linda Butler of Conway was killed in the house fire Sunday. Edge says Butler died from injuries sustained in the fire and was pronounced dead at the scene.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — An official says a boat capsized in South Carolina and first responders rescued two people and their dog.
North Myrtle Beach spokesman Pat Dowling tells The Sun News the jon boat flipped Thursday evening. He says the small vessel capsized near a boat ramp and city police, fire and beach patrol crews were sent to help the people and their pet.

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — The Myrtle Beach Invitational begins play Thursday with St. Joseph's against Wake Forest.
That is the first of four games in the day's first round for the eight-team field, which includes two power-conference teams in the Demon Deacons of the Atlantic Coast Conference and West Virginia of the Big 12.

New FBS postseason game, Myrtle Beach Bowl, to start in 2020

Georgia man charged in South Carolina restaurant death
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A Georgia man has been arrested in the shooting death of a man at an oceanfront restaurant in South Carolina.
News outlets report that Myrtle Beach police have charged 24-year-old Jakkari Jaquill De'Andre Brown of Toccoa, Georgia, and charged him with murder.
Police said 25-year-old Roger Ramos of Myrtle Beach died at a hospital after the shooting early Sunday.
