Moffitt edges Sauter in Michigan for 4th Trucks win of year
BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) — Brett Moffitt passed Jimmy Sauter just before the finish line Saturday at Michigan International Speedway for his fourth NASCAR Truck Series victory of the season.
Moffitt edged Sauter — the leader the previous 12 laps — by 0.025 seconds.
"Pretty amazing this little team's gone to Victory Lane four times this year," Moffitt said. "The whole last however- many laps I was behind (Sauter), I would get to him, but I would push him with that air bubble between our bumpers.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Johnny Sauter wanted to win this race, maybe as badly as any other.
Sauter won the season-opening NASCAR Truck Series race Friday night and dedicated it to crew chief Joe Shear Jr., whose wife died unexpectedly in late December.
"I didn't have one nerve," said Sauter, who finished second in points in 2017. "I just felt like this was our day."
The team felt like it had some help. Chandra Shear died Dec. 28 at her home in Mooresville, North Carolina, age 43.

Darrell Wallace Jr wins in first Truck race since 2014
BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) — In his first NASCAR Truck Series race in three years, Darrell Wallace Jr. looked as if he had never left.
Wallace held off a late challenge from Christopher Bell to win Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. After taking the lead in his No. 99 Chevrolet with about 10 laps remaining, Wallace had to contend with Austin Cindric and Bell toward the end. He was able to edge Bell by 0.176 seconds.
"I knew those last laps were going to be hectic," Wallace said.
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Christopher Bell won the NASCAR Truck Series race at Texas under caution Friday night, taking the white flag side-by-side with Chase Briscoe before a wreck behind them that left a truck upside down on the front stretch.
CONCORD, N.C. (AP) — Kyle Busch raced to his second straight NASCAR Truck Series victory Friday night, leading 90 of 134 laps in a dominating run at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Busch has 48 career Truck victories — three short of Ron Hornaday Jr.'s series record — and 173 wins overall in NASCAR's top three series, also winning 38 Cup races and 87 Xfinity events.

"We just had such a run — we were rolling five to 10 miles an hour faster than them getting into Turn 1," Moffitt said. "I knew if there was room to get to the outside, I didn't care if it was going to stick or not. I'm here to win races."
