Toffoli scores in overtime to lift Kings past Vegas 4-3
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Tyler Toffoli sent the Los Angeles Kings into their holiday break with a little extra hope for the New Year.
Toffoli scored 1:40 into overtime to lift Los Angeles past the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 on Sunday night, marking the second straight night the Kings won in overtime after beating San Jose on Saturday.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Vegas' Nate Schmidt has acknowledged there are times that playing hockey isn't fun, including losing to the Washington Capitals in the Stanley Cup finals.
The defenseman erased some of that pain on Tuesday night.
Schmidt scored twice in the final two minutes to lift the Golden Knights over the Capitals 5-3.
It was the first time Washington skated at T-Mobile Arena since winning and hoisting Stanley Cup in June.
Vegas signs suspended D Nate Schmidt to $35.7 million deal
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Suspended defenseman Nate Schmidt and the Vegas Golden Knights agreed to a $35.7 million, six-year contract extension Wednesday that runs through the 2024-25 season.
The team announced the move late Wednesday night after losing 3-2 to the Vancouver Canucks in a shootout. Schmidt's new deal is worth $5.95 million per year.
The 27-year-old Schmidt was banned 20 games last month for violating the NHL's performance-enhancing drug policy. He can return to the Golden Knights on Nov. 18.

Capitals acquire defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk from Blues
WASHINGTON (AP) — With their championship window in danger of closing, the Washington Capitals made a strong move Monday to try to win the Stanley Cup this spring by acquiring defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk in a trade with the St. Louis Blues.
Shattenkirk is a pending unrestricted free agent, but was considered the top rental player available ahead of the NHL's Wednesday trade deadline.
