PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Alpha Diallo scored 20 points and Drew Edwards had 13 and both made a pair of free throws in the closing seconds to help Providence defeat DePaul 70-60 on Sunday.
Neither team made a basket in the final two minutes. Max Strus made three free throws with 1:41 remaining to pull DePaul within 66-63.

Luwane Pipkins lifts UMass over Providence 79-78
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Luwane Pipkins scored 26 points, including the go-ahead layup with 10 seconds remaining, and Massachusetts defeated Providence 79-78 on Friday night.
Curtis Cobb and Carl Pierre added 16 and 15 points, respectively, as the three starting guards for UMass (6-4) combined for 57 points.
Alpha Diallo led Providence with 21 points and backup center Nate Watson added 14 points.
Jackson’s free throws help Providence beat BC in OT
BOSTON (AP) — Providence coach Ed Cooley's team needed a clutch 3-pointer at the end of regulation.
In overtime, it was a lot easier: All his players had to do was hit some late foul shots.
Isaiah Jackson hit five free throws in the closing 33.9 seconds of OT and finished with 19 points, lifting Providence to a 100-95 victory over Boston College on Tuesday night.
"It came down to a couple of plays and we were fortunate to make the good plays," Cooley said. "We were very fortunate to win."

Isaiah Jackson came off the bench to hit two 3-pointers and score 13 with six rebounds for the Friars (4-2), while fellow reserve Nate Watson added 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting. The 91 points was a season high for Providence.

DePaul (10-14, 3-9 Big East Conference) snapped a three-game skid while Providence (16-9, 7-5) had its two-game win streak broken.
Bullock’s free throws lift Providence over Stony Brook 62-60
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rodney Bullock made two free throws with 0.6 seconds left and Providence rallied to defeat Stony Brook 62-60 on Sunday.
Tyrell Sturdivant tied the game with a tip-in with nine seconds left but was called for a foul on Bullock's attempted putback.
Monday’s college basketball: Murphy leads Minnesota over Providence
Providence, R.I. — Jordan Murphy had 23 points and 14 rebounds, and No 15 Minnesota outlasted Providence 86-74 on Monday night.
Murphy scored 15 points in the second half, leading the Gophers back from a three-point halftime deficit. Nate Mason added 17 points and Amir Coffey finished with 15.
The Gophers tied it up 55-55 in the second half, then used a 23-11 run to take control.
White leads attack, Providence dumps Houston Baptist 84-55
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Maliek White scored 13 points and Kyron Cartwright had 10 points and distributed 10 assists to lead Providence to its season-opening win beating Houston Baptist 84-55 on Friday night in a 2K Classic tournament opener.
With the scored knotted at 11, the Friars put together an 18-4 run that Houston Baptist never recovered from. White scored seven points during that stretch with a layup, dunk and 3-pointer and Nate Watson scored eight points all on lay-ins in that span.
