Limited role leaves Sabres’ Beaulieu open to being traded
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Sabres defenseman Nathan Beaulieu is concerned with his lack of playing time and would prefer being traded if his role doesn't change in Buffalo, the player's agent told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
Kent Hughes said that while he didn't demand the Sabres trade his client, he did request they consider it if Beaulieu isn't considered part of their future plans with his contract set to expire.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres had to go to overtime after squandering a two-goal lead in the third period, but they still made it a perfect 10.
Jeff Skinner scored his team-leading 19th goal 1:19 into overtime, and the Sabres won their 10th straight by beating the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Tuesday night.
Rasmus Ristolainen scored off a deke around Brent Burns, and Nathan Beaulieu also scored for Buffalo, which hasn't lost since Nov. 4.
Max Pacioretty scores in overtime, Canadiens edge Sabres 2-1
MONTREAL (AP) — Max Pacioretty and the Montreal Canadiens are picking up speed after a slow start.
Pacioretty scored at 3:08 of overtime to give Montreal a 2-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night. Pacioretty broke in alone and beat Chad Johnson with a backhand shot.
Andrew Shaw also scored for Montreal, and Charlie Lindgren made 34 saves to improve to 4-1-0. The Canadiens have won four of five to improve to 8-9-1.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Newly acquired Buffalo Sabres defenseman Nathan Beaulieu has agreed to a two-year, $4.8 million deal in foregoing the opportunity to have his contract determined at an arbitration hearing.
The Sabres announced the agreement on Monday, five days before both sides were scheduled to present their case before an NHL arbitrator. Beaulieu was a restricted free agent.

Ekblad snaps stick on goal, Panthers top Canadiens 4-3 in OT
MONTREAL (AP) — Aaron Ekblad broke his stick on an awkward slap shot that sneaked by goalie Carey Price in overtime, helping the Florida Panthers beat the NHL-leading Montreal Canadiens 4-3 on Tuesday night.
Ekblad wound for a shot from the right hash marks, but his stick snapped and the puck slid slowly toward the net. It deflected off the boot of defenseman Nathan Beaulieu before sliding past Price 2:59 into OT.
