Sonia Winner chosen as acting CEO of natural history museum
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Museum of Natural History announced Thursday that Clevelander Sonia Winner, the museum's chief advancement officer since January 2017, has been appointed acting CEO, effective immediately.
Winner has succeeded Evalyn Gates, who left the museum in December after seven years at the helm.

The annual Behind the Scenes Event allows the public a unique look at the inner workings of the museum and features objects and collections not normally on display, including recent items found at the 12,300 year old Wishbone Hearth Site on the Utah Test and Training Range. The Natural History Museum of Utah is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 363 days per year, except on Wednesdays when the facility is open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Information about programs and admission fees is available at www.nhmu.utah.edu.

The Natural History Museum of Utah, located in the Rio Tinto Center in Salt Lake City, hosts its annual "Behind the Scenes" event on Saturday and Sunday.
At the event, guests can explore scientific labs, talk with researchers and tour state-of-the-art storage facilities where the museum holds 1.6 million different objects. Normally off limits, these areas are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
