SAN ANTONIO, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say a Colorado woman has been killed in a rollover crash in the small New Mexico community of San Antonio.
New Mexico State Police say 69-year-old Victoria Robles of Henderson was a passenger in a car that rolled over Monday night on Interstate 25 in Socorro County.
They say she was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Pregnant woman, unborn child die after New Mexico car crash
SANTA TERESA, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico State Police say a pregnant woman and her unborn child have died after a head-on car crash near Santa Teresa.
They say 34-year-old Cynthia Gamboa of Chaparral was driving on State Road 136 about 10 p.m. on Jan. 31 when her vehicle crossed the center line and collided with another car.
State Police say Gamboa was about 35 weeks pregnant.
2 State Police officers struck while investigating crash
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico State Police say two of its officers were struck by a car while investigating a crash near Las Cruces.
The agency says both officers were treated for non-life threatening injuries after a passing vehicle truck them while they investigated a crash on U.S. 70 northeast of the city on Saturday.
It's unclear if the driver who struck them was arrested. Police said they would have more information later.
New Mexico State Police: 2 arrested after pursuit, gunfire
ALMOGORDO, N.M. (AP) — Authorities says two Alamogordo brothers were stopped and arrested after a SUV fled from a Border Patrol checkpoint in southern New Mexico and multiple shots were fired at several agencies' pursuing officers, including one who fired back with his rifle.
No injuries were reported from the incident late Thursday night which began at the checkpoint on U.S. 70 and continued into the Alamogordo city limits and ended on the city's highway bypass.
Sunland Park man killed trying to help driver of stalled car
DONA ANA COUNTY, N.M. (AP) — A Sunland Park man is dead after trying to help the driver of a stalled car in Dona Ana County and getting fatally struck by a passing vehicle.
New Mexico State Police say 46-year-old Byron Wade Cross was pronounced dead Monday night at a hospital.
They say a car driven by an 18-year-old man from Mexico stalled out in the middle of Interstate 10.
Roosevelt County sheriff: Cash missing from evidence room
PORTALES, N.M. (AP) — Roosevelt County Sheriff Malin Parker is asking New Mexico State Police for help in investigating missing cash from its evidence room.
The Eastern New Mexico News reports Parker announced this week an audit found the cash missing after an employee notified him.
2 Minnesota residents killed in I-40 rollover in New Mexico
CLINES CORNERS, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico State Police say two Minnesota residents have been killed in a rollover crash.
They say 64-year-old Duane George and 61-year-old Patricia George, both of Elk River, were pronounced dead at the scene of Saturday's accident west of the unincorporated community of Clines Corners.
State Police didn't immediately say if the two people killed were married or related otherwise.
State police: Hundreds of pounds of pot seized in Gallup
GALLUP, N.M. (AP) — State authorities say they seized nearly 1,000 pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in two days at a western New Mexico stop.
New Mexico State Police said Friday that the drugs were seized along Interstate 40, starting Tuesday when 391 pounds of pot was found at the Gallup port of entry.
Almost as much was seized at the same location a day later when in a commercial vehicle.
New Mexican arrested for allegedly stealing postal truck
RATON, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico State Police say a woman who allegedly stole a postal truck has been arrested in Raton.
Police were notified about 8 a.m. Wednesday that a U.S. Postal Service vehicle was stolen from the Maxwell area.
It was later located on Interstate 25 and that began a pursuit involving police officers.

New Mexico State Police Chief retires
SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — The chief of the New Mexico State Police Department has retired after five years on the job and a total of 26 years with the agency.
The department announced late Monday that Chief Pete Kassetas retired.
Kassetas began working for the state police in 1992 in Grants. He worked as a patrolman, in criminal investigations and as an officer and supervisor.
New Mexico State Police: 2 walk away from juvenile facility
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico authorities are looking for two juvenile offenders who walked away from a state facility in Albuquerque.
The State Police said Saturday that 20-year-old Zane Fernandez of Carlsbad and 17-year-old Benjamin Galindo of Roswell walked away from the Albuquerque Boys Reintegration Center.
Person dead after shots fired at residence in Cibola County
BLUEWATER, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say a person is dead following an encounter with law enforcement officers in Bluewater Village in Cibola County in western New Mexico.
Circumstances of how the person died weren't released, but the New Mexico State Police says a shot was heard inside the residence following an earlier exchange of gunfire that occurred Thursday when sheriff's deputies arrived at the residence to serve an arrest warrant.

At least 7 killed in head-on bus crash in New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — At least seven people were killed and others were seriously injured Thursday in a head-on crash involving a commercial passenger bus and a semi-truck along Interstate 40 in New Mexico, near the Arizona border, authorities said.
Preliminary information indicated the semi was headed east when it blew a tire, sending the rig across the median and into oncoming traffic where it smashed into the bus, New Mexico State Police said.

State trooper accused of giving drugs to females resigns
BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say a New Mexico State Police officer accused of trying to give methamphetamine to a woman and marijuana to a 16-year-old girl has resigned ahead of hearing over his employment on the force.
A state police spokeswoman says 33-year-old Daniel Capehart resigned Friday in a letter to state police. The agency's chief will seek to have him barred from being an officer in New Mexico, with a report submitted to the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy Board.
