IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa's offense struggled with turnovers early on, but thanks to its determination to feed the post, the Hawkeyes dominated down low in a 93-82 win over Green Bay on Sunday.
Luka Garza and Tyler Cook muscled Phoenix defenders in the paint all game long, as each scored 17 points.
"Early on we were getting (the ball) to me inside, then we started getting it to Cook, because we knew we had the advantage there," Garza said. "They couldn't stop us."
Iowa beats Southern Utah 92-64 for 3rd straight win
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Freshman Luka Garza scored 17 points, Tyler Cook and Isaiah Moss each added 16, and Iowa beat Southern Utah 92-64 on Tuesday night for its third straight victory.
Jack Nunge's steal and pass to Moss for a breakaway dunk gave Iowa a 17-5 lead and the Hawkeyes extended it to 51-31 at halftime behind 10 points from Cook. The Hawkeyes shot 53 percent in the half and outrebounded SUU 27-13.
Cook, Hawkeyes cruise past Drake 90-64
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — It took over a month. But the Iowa team most expected to see all season finally showed up in Des Moines.
Tyler Cook scored 23 points, Jordan Bohannon had 15 with seven assists and Iowa cruised past Drake 90-64 on Saturday, its sixth straight win over the rival Bulldogs.
Nicholas Baer scored 11 points with 14 rebounds, five steals and five assists for the Hawkeyes (6-6), who climbed back to .500 despite a recent stretch of six losses in seven games.
Iowa’s Baer breaks pinky finger, out 3-4 weeks
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa forward Nicholas Baer, the Big Ten's reigning Sixth Man of the Year, could miss up to a month after breaking his left pinky finger.
The Hawkeyes announced on Monday that Baer suffered the injury in practice over the weekend. Baer won't need surgery, but he'll have to sit for 3-to-4 weeks.
Baer averaged team highs in rebounding (5.8), steals (1.4) and blocked shots (1.3) per game in 2016-17 and was in position to jump into the starting lineup before he got hurt.
Jok heats up, Hawkeyes throttle Penn State 90-79
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa senior star Peter Jok had a surprisingly slow start on the day when the Hawkeyes honored him.
Once Jok got going, he went on a scoring tear that reminded Iowa why it's going to miss him so much.
Jok scored 20 of his 21 points in the second half — including 16 in less than eight minutes — and Iowa throttled Penn State 90-79 on Sunday, closing the regular season with four straight wins.
"There's no better time to click than March," Jok said.
Iowa, McCaffery walk off court without handshake for UND

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Peter Jok scored 20 of his 27 points in the first half and Iowa cruised to a 95-67 win over Texas Rio Grande Valley on Sunday.
Tyler Cook scored 15 points and Isaiah Moss had a career-high 14 for the Hawkeyes (3-1), who shot 51 percent from the field and scored 41 points off 26 Vaqueros turnovers.
Iowa went on a 26-7 run in the middle of the game to pull away from UTRGV — including a faster start to the second half that coach Fran McCaffery has wanted from his young team.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Peter Jok scored 27 points and Iowa throttled Kennesaw State 91-74 on Friday night.
Ahmad Wagner had 12 points and four blocks for the Hawkeyes, who are looking to reach the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season under Fran McCaffery.
Iowa built a 43-25 halftime lead and appeared to be on its way to a blowout win before Kennesaw State opened the second half on a 16-6 run that cut the lead to 49-41.
