LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nick Cousins said he "couldn't put a finger on" why teams are playing better in Las Vegas this season.
Nor does he care.
Cousins scored his first game-winning goal of the season and goaltender Darcy Kuemper made 41 saves to lead the Arizona Coyotes to a 5-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.
Panik’s OT goal lifts Canucks past Coyotes 4-3
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The Arizona Coyotes kept relinquishing one-goal leads, letting the Vancouver Canucks stick around.
Richard Panik gave the Coyotes one final advantage — and a victory.
Panik scored his second goal of the game with 50 seconds left in overtime to lift Arizona to a 4-3 victory on Thursday night.
Panik added an assist, and Nick Cousins and Conor Garland also scored for the Coyotes, who got 33 saves from Darcy Kuemper.
Grabner scores in OT to give Coyotes 5th straight win
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Facing a Carolina Hurricanes team that leads the league in shots per game, the Arizona Coyotes needed every one of goalie Antti Raanta's career high 48 saves. They also needed overtime after giving up a three-goal lead.
Michael Grabner scored 1:17 into the extra period to lift the Coyotes to their fifth straight win, 4-3 over the Hurricanes on Friday night.
Arizona gets 1st win, defeats Anaheim in shootout
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Nick Cousins and company took a deep breath.
The first goal is on the board. The first win is in the books.
Cousins scored in the shootout, Antti Raanta made 23 saves and the Arizona Coyotes beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 on Wednesday night for their first win.
Dylan Strome and Brad Richardson scored for Arizona (1-2), which dropped its first 11 games last season.
"It's huge. Because of what happened last year it is a big relief," Cousins said. "I think it relieves some pressure."
NEW YORK (AP) — The NHL has fined Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand and Arizona Coyotes forward Nick Cousins for embellishment.
Each player was docked $2,000 under the league's program designed to discourage diving and embellishment. A player is first warned and then is fined $2,000 for a second violation in a season.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet praised center Nick Cousins after, not just for his game-winning goal against the New York Islanders but also for his improved overall play.
Cousins scored his second goal of the game 2:21 into overtime to lift the Coyotes to a 3-2 win over the Islanders on Monday night.
Fischer scores in OT, Coyotes beat Predators 3-2
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The first 41 games of the season were a struggle for the Arizona Coyotes, who only won nine times and earned 23 points.
The second 41 got off to a positive start, however.
Christian Fischer scored on the rebound off Jakob Chychrun's shot at 2:41 of overtime to give the Coyotes a 3-2 comeback victory over the Nashville Predators on Thursday night.
The goal was reviewed, then challenged by Nashville and reviewed again. Arizona won for the third time in six games.
Penguins beat Coyotes 4-2 to end 3-game losing streak
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Pittsburgh Penguins have struggled in close games recently and giving up a two-goal lead to the team with the league's worst record was not a good sign.
One shot from Olli Maata changed their fortunes.
Maatta scored from just inside the blue line with 14 seconds left and the Penguins ended a three-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night.
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Coyotes have signed former New York Rangers defenseman Adam Clendening to a one-year, $650,000 contract.
The Coyotes announced the one-way contract on Saturday, the opening day of NHL free agency.
The 24-year-old had two goals and nine assists in 31 games with the Rangers last season. Clendening has four goals and 18 assists in 81 career NHL games with the Rangers, Pittsburgh, Vancouver and Chicago.
Coyotes acquire forward Nick Cousins from Flyers
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Coyotes have acquired forward Nick Cousins from the Philadelphia Flyers.
Philadelphia got a 2018 fifth-round pick and the rights to unsigned forward prospect Brendan Warren, also sending unsigned goaltending prospect Merrick Madsen to Arizona. The teams announced the deal Friday night in advance of the trade freeze that begins Saturday afternoon before the Vegas expansion draft.
Fabbri nets hat trick as Blues come back to beat Flyers 6-3
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Robby Fabbri broke out of a scoring funk and added to his hat collection in the process.
Fabbri got a hat trick, David Perron and Scottie Upshall scored during St. Louis' four-goal third period and the Blues rallied to beat the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3 on Wednesday night.
Kevin Shattenkirk also scored and Carter Hutton made 17 saves as the Blues improved to 12-1-4 at home.
Mason, Simmonds lead Flyers over Panthers 3-1
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Wayne Simmonds and the Philadelphia Flyers played a strong game in front of Steve Mason, and the goaltender was there when needed.
Mason made 38 saves and Simmonds had a goal and an assist, helping the Flyers beat the Florida Panthers 3-1 on Tuesday night.
Simmonds scored an even-strength goal in the first period and assisted Nick Cousins on the second of Philadelphia's power-plays in the second.
