Coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Mostert broke his arm and Moseley dislocated his shoulder in the 34-3 victory Thursday night. Both players have been placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season.

Nick Mullens to start at QB for 49ers against Raiders
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Nick Mullens will make his NFL debut as the starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers against the Oakland Raiders.
The 49ers said Mullens will start Thursday night against Oakland after C.J. Beathard injured his right wrist last week. Beathard was unable to do much all week in practice, but will serve as the backup for the game against the Raiders.

49ers claim DL Xavier Cooper off waivers from Cleveland
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers have claimed defensive lineman Xavier Cooper off waivers from the Cleveland Browns.
The 49ers placed defensive lineman Ronald Blair on injured reserve Sunday to make room on the roster for Cooper. Blair has a broken hand and could be designated to return from injured reserve after missing at least eight weeks.
Cooper played 27 games the past two years with Cleveland and had 39 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks. He was waived Saturday.
49ers release Barkley after Beathard wins backup QB role
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers released quarterback Matt Barkley on Friday, clearing the way for rookie C.J. Beathard to open the season as the backup to Brian Hoyer.
The Niners had been debating whether to keep two or three quarterbacks but opted for only two after a successful preseason for Beathard. The third-round pick out of Iowa posted a 107.7 passer rating in exhibition games and also scored on a 62-yard run Thursday night against the Los Angeles Chargers.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Nick Mullens threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns and sneaked in for another in his final home game as Southern Miss defeated Louisiana Tech 39-24 on Friday night.
Mullens, who sat out the last two games because of a concussion after having a 25-game starting streak end, became the Eagles' all-time touchdown passing leader with 86, passing Austin Davis (2008-11). D.J. Thompson had 135 yards receiving and two scores. Ito Smith added 127 yards rushing.
Klugh leads Charlotte comeback to beat Southern Miss, 38-27
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Hasaan Klugh ran for a touchdown and capped a 21-point second quarter with an 18-yard pass to T.L. Ford II as Charlotte rallied past Southern Mississippi, 38-27 on Saturday.
Klugh capped an 80-yard, three-play drive in the first quarter with a 7-yard scamper for a touchdown, but the Golden Eagles answered with a pair of first-quarter touchdown passes by Nick Mullens to take a 14-7 lead.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Nick Mullens threw for a touchdown and broke a school passing record as Southern Mississippi stopped a two-game slide with a 24-14 win over Marshall on Saturday night.
Mullens had 300 yards passing for the Golden Eagles (5-3, 3-1 Conference USA) to become the school's all-time leader with 11,057 career yards, surpassing the 10,892 yards of Austin Davis (2008-11). Ito Smith ran for 140 yards and two scores.

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — Nick Mullens threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Southern Mississippi to a 34-7 win over UTEP on Saturday night.
Ito Smith ran 16 times for 108 yards and added 33 yards receiving with a touchdown for Southern Miss (3-1, 1-0 Conference USA), who outgained UTEP by 120 yards (378-258) and forced three Miners turnovers. D.J. Thompson and Allenzae Staggers also caught TD passes for the Golden Eagles.
