THE COLONY, Texas (AP) — Nicole Broch Larsen was penalized one shot for causing her ball to move while at rest during the second and final round of the weather-abbreviated LPGA Texas Classic on Saturday, causing her to fall into a five-way tie for the lead.
Broch Larsen played 32 holes Saturday in 6 under after not playing Thursday or Friday. She was tied with Sung Hyun Park, Jenny Shin, Aditi Ashok and Gaby Lopez. Park and Shin had yet to begin their second rounds.
Sung Hyun Park rallies to win CP Women’s Open
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Sung Hyun Park added the Canadian Pacific Women's Open title to her U.S. Women's Open crown with a comeback victory Sunday at Ottawa Hunt.
Park birdied the final hole for a 7-under 64 and a two-stroke victory over fellow South Korean player Mirim Lee. Four strokes behind leaders Nicole Broch Larsen and Mo Martin entering the round, The 23-year-old Park finished at 13-under 271. She won the U.S. Women's Open last month in New Jersey for her first LPGA Tour title.
Michelle Wie set to have surgery to remove appendix
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Michelle Wie was set to have surgery Sunday to remove her appendix.
Wie withdrew before the final round of the Canadian Pacific Women's Open and was taken to Ottawa Hospital for the surgery.
"Further details on her condition will be provided when available," her agency, IMG, said in a statement.
Canadian Henderson shoots 63 to make big move at Ottawa Hunt
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Brooke Henderson made a big move Saturday in the Canadian Pacific Women's Open to the delight of her many home fans.
The 19-year-old major champion from nearby Smiths Falls shot a course-record 8-under 63 to get into contention at Ottawa Hunt, finishing before most of the other leaders even teed off.
"I knew I had to get going," Henderson said. "Today is moving day, and I moved, that's for sure."
Reid takes 3rd-round lead at LET’s season-opening Vic Open
BARWON HEADS, Australia (AP) — Melissa Reid of England shot a 6-under 67 Saturday to take a two-stroke lead over American Angel Jin and Australian Su Oh at the Vic Open, the season-opening event on the Ladies European Tour.
Reid had a three-round total of 15-under 204 on the Beach Course at the Thirteenth Beach links. Yin shot 68 and Oh 70.
Three shots behind Reid are Germany's Sandra Gal, Spain's Belen Mozo and South Korean amateur Choi Hye-jin.
Danish golfer, minus a caddie, leads Vic Open after 2 rounds
BARWON HEADS, Australia (AP) — Nicole Broch Larsen of Denmark, playing without a caddie, shot a 6-under 67 Friday to take a two-stroke lead after 36 holes of the Ladies European Tour's season-opening Vic Open.
Larsen, pulling her own bag on a cart, had a 12-under total of 134 at the Thirteenth Beach Golf Links, which is using both its Beach and Creek courses through the first two rounds of the tournament.
