Tavares helps Islanders cool off Golden Knights, 6-3
NEW YORK (AP) — John Tavares and the New York Islanders are on quite a roll.
Tavares kept up his scoring surge with two more goals and the Islanders beat Vegas 6-3 on Monday night, handing the expansion Golden Knights their second loss of the season.
Andrew Ladd, Mathew Barzal, Cal Clutterbuck and Nikolay Kulemin also scored, and Jaroslav Halak stopped 31 shots to help New York win for the fifth time in six games. Tavares has eight goals in the last four games.

CHICAGO (AP) — Artemi Panarin scored with 1:14 left in regulation and then had the clinching goal in the shootout, helping the Chicago Blackhawks beat the New York Islanders 2-1 on Friday night for their sixth consecutive victory.
Jonathan Toews also scored in the tiebreaker as Chicago pulled within one point of idle Minnesota for the top spot in the Western Conference. Corey Crawford made 31 saves in his first start since Feb. 23.

NEW YORK (AP) — Two nights after a bad road loss, the New York Islanders bounced back with a key home win against one of their biggest rivals.
Andrew Ladd scored twice to lead the Islanders to a 4-2 victory over the Rangers on Thursday night. Anders Lee and Nikolay Kulemin also scored, and Thomas Greiss stopped 25 shots to help the Islanders improve to 8-0-2 in their last 10 at home.
"It was a huge game for us," Lee said. "A good response from our last outing."
Nelson’s OT goal lifts Islanders past Maple Leafs 6-5
NEW YORK (AP) — After climbing back from a two-goal deficit, the New York Islanders didn't get deflated when Toronto regained the lead late in regulation.
They simply found a way to post another big home win.
Brock Nelson's second goal of the game at 2:42 of overtime lifted the Islanders to a 6-5 victory over the Maple Leafs on Monday night.
Trailing 5-4 late in the third period, the Islanders pulled goalie Thomas Greiss and tied it on Andrew Ladd's deflection with 1:29 left.
Islanders chase Bobrovsky, beat struggling Blue Jackets 4-2

BOSTON (AP) — Islanders goaltender Thomas Greiss definitely wanted to be back in net after a poor game.
Playing in Boston again certainly added to his excitement.
Greiss stopped 32 shots for his first shutout of the season — and the first by an Islanders' goalie in a game in Boston — to lead New York past the Bruins 4-0 on Monday.

John Tavares and Ryan Strome each had a goal and an assist to help the Islanders beat the Jets 6-2 on Saturday night. Nikolay Kulemin, Shane Prince, Anders Lee and Andrew Ladd also scored, Josh Bailey and Brock Nelson each had two assists, and Thomas Greiss made 32 saves.

BOSTON (AP) — Thomas Greiss stopped nearly everything for the New York Islanders, including their five-game winless streak.
Greiss stopped 48 of the 50 shots he faced — both career highs — and the Islanders beat the Boston Bruins 4-2 Tuesday night for the club's first victory in almost two weeks.
Cal Clutterbuck and Andrew Ladd scored 1:39 apart midway through the third period to lift the Islanders over Vancouver, 4-2, handing the Canucks their ninth straight loss.
Jason Chimera and Nikolay Kulemin also scored and Jaroslav Halak stopped 30 shots for the Islanders, who won for just the second time in seven games (2-3-2).
Daniel Sedin scored and Ryan Miller had 28 saves for Vancouver, which fell to 0-8-1 with eight straight regulation losses since opening the season with four wins.
