North Ogden Police Sgt. Jeremy Hindes says dispatch received two phone calls Tuesday night from a man who claimed to have explosives and threatened to "shoot up" the council's meeting.
Specific councilmembers weren't targeted in the threat.

Teen killed, brother critically injured in Ogden shooting
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a teen was killed and his brother was critically injured in a shooting in Ogden.
Ogden Police Lt. Clint Christensen says the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
Family members identified the boy killed as 16-year-old Kamron Johnson.

Police say Ogden man found on street died after altercation
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Police in Ogden are investigating a man who has died after being found injured on the street.
Authorities say the man, who is in his late 20s, succumbed Sunday to injuries that are believed to have been from a physical altercation.
Officers responded Saturday night to reports of a man in need of medical attention.
Misbehaving Utah officers given leniency, audit finds
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Utah police officers caught committing misdeeds on the job such as driving under the influence or using drugs receive more lenient punishments than law enforcement in six other states, a new state report found.
The State Auditor's Office reviewed eight years of discipline records and concluded Utah gives less severe punishment than Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Oregon and Washington, according to a report issued Wednesday.

Jennie Taylor will be in the House gallery as a guest of U.S. Rep. Bob Bishop, a Utah Republican whose 1st Congressional District includes North Ogden of which Brent Taylor was mayor.
The 39-year-old Utah National Guard major died in November during a deployment while on temporary leave as mayor.

Romney backs Trump in shutdown showdown, questions Pelosi
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah said Friday he supports President Donald Trump's push for a border wall that has led to a government shutdown and questioned why Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi won't agree to "another few miles" of barriers on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Romney also said he plans to keep working with other senators to find interim solutions, such as legislation that would make sure essential government employees still working get paid now.
