George Harrison remembered by fellow Beatle on 75th birthday
LONDON (AP) — Paul McCartney and George Harrison's widow and son have publicly remembered the late Beatle on what would have been his 75th birthday.
"Happy Birthday Georgie. Wonderful memories," McCartney tweeted Sunday along with a black and white photograph of the two of them taken during the Beatlemania days.
To hear Olivia Harrison tell it, it wasn’t unusual for George Harrison to stroll through their house spouting words at random — a process that could cause an outsider to wonder whether the ex-Beatle had suddenly started speaking in tongues.
Paul and Ringo back together for Beatles film opening
LONDON (AP) — The surviving Beatles will get together for the British premiere of director Ron Howard's film that documents the band's chaotic years on the road.
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will be in London Thursday for the opening of "Eight Days a Week — the Touring Years."
The film traces the group's progression from playing to small frenzied crowds at The Cavern Club in Liverpool to their sold-out stadium shows in the United States.
