BLM oil and gas lease sale lands over $538,800 in bids
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — An online auction of oil and gas leases by the Bureau of Land Management has landed more than $538,800 in bids this week.
The auction held Tuesday offered 23 parcels covering some 12,500 acres (5,058 hectares) in Montana for oil and gas leasing through the competitive online auction.
The BLM says it received bids on 21 of the parcels.
Stephen Hawking’s wheelchair sells for $393,000 at auction
LONDON (AP) — A wheelchair used by physicist Stephen Hawking has sold at auction for almost 300,000 pounds ($393,000), while a copy of his doctoral thesis fetched almost 585,000 pounds ($767,000), auctioneer Christie's said Thursday.
The motorized chair, used by Hawking after he was paralyzed with motor neuron disease, raised 296,750 pounds in a Christie's online auction. It had been expected to fetch up to 15,000 pounds.
Massachusetts planning online auction of unclaimed property
BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts is planning another online auction of items from its Unclaimed Property Division.
Treasurer Deborah Goldberg says her office will be exhibiting some of the items that will soon be auctioned on eBay.com beginning at the Massachusetts Statehouse on Monday.
The items will subsequently be shown in Cape Cod, Plainville, Springfield, and Worcester, all leading up to the online auction starting on Saturday.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The long-shuttered Hynix semiconductor plant in west Eugene is back on the auction block.
Broadcom paid $21 million for the shuttered complex in an online auction in 2015. The firm said it would revive the plant and manufacture silicon chips for cellphones.
But the company quickly scrapped that idea and listed the property for sale late last year.
