EASTBOURNE, England (AP) — Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber will meet Simona Halep in the quarterfinals at Eastbourne after they won their third-round matches Wednesday.
MOSCOW (AP) — Daria Kasatkina won the Kremlin Cup as qualifier Ons Jabeur narrowly failed to become the first WTA winner from Tunisia on Saturday.
Jabeur was a set and a break up at 4-1 when she seemed to tire in her eighth match in as many days, allowing Kasatkina to win 2-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4 with vocal support from the home crowd.
The exhausted Jabeur served the last game with severe cramp and tears in her eyes.
"I saw you gave everything today and this is what sport is about," Kasatkina told Jabeur.
MOSCOW (AP) — Tunisian qualifier Ons Jabeur became the first player from her country to reach a WTA tennis final on Friday, and she will next face Daria Kasatkina for the Kremlin Cup title.
Jabeur, the 2011 junior champion at the French Open, beat 11th-ranked Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the semifinals.

The 58th-ranked Pliskova, who played under the watchful eye of her twin sister, second-seeded Karolina Pliskova, was facing defeat as Vinci served for the match at 6-3, 5-4.
But Pliskova won the next four games, and then broke Vinci's serve in the sixth game of the third set to secure the victory.
SHENZHEN, China (AP) — Simona Halep's preparations for the Australian Open took a hit when the second-seeded Romanian was beaten by Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 in the second round of the Shenzhen Open.
Halep, the 2015 champion, was broken four times in the final set. Altogether, the two players combined for 15 breaks of serve in the match.
