Police say Tyekiva Harvin and an unidentified man left the Orangeburg apartment after the Sunday morning attack.

Orangeburg County sheriff's deputies told news outlets Wednesday evening that 55-year-old Stanley Lee Dixon of Denmark has been arrested and charged with murder.

Officials: Girl, 4, dies after house fire in South Carolina
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Officials say a 4-year-old girl has succumbed to injuries she sustained in a South Carolina house fire.
Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Capt. Alfred Alexander says the girl's mother and sibling are being treated for injuries due to the fire. The County Coroner's Office has not yet released the name of the 4-year-old girl.
Man shot in arm outside of South Carolina mall
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a man was shot in the arm in the parking lot of a South Carolina mall during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Orangeburg Department of Public Safety spokesman Lt. Anthony Robinson said the shooting happened Saturday afternoon at the Prince of Orange Mall.
The mall was placed on lockdown for about two hours after officers arrived so they could investigate.
