Hobbs, Dembley lead Boise State past San Jose State 87-64
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Alex Hobbs and Pat Dembley scored 18 points apiece and Boise State notched its third straight win, beating San Jose State 87-64 on Saturday.
Justinian Jessup added 17 points for the Broncos (8-8, 3-0 Mountain West Conference). Zach Haney and Derrick Alston scored 11 points apiece.
Krebs hits 6 3s, scores 20; Saint Mary’s beats San Jose St.
MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Tanner Krebs tied his career high with six 3-pointers and finished with a season-high 20 points to help Saint Mary's beat San Jose State 75-45 on Saturday night.
Krebs, who came in shooting 42 percent from the field and 35 percent from 3-point range this season, was 7-of-12 shooting including 6 of 9 from behind the arc. Jordan Ford added 16 points and Elijah Thomas scored 10 for Saint Mary's (9-6).
McNeill scores 22 points to lead Cal past San Jose St 88-80
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Darius McNeill scored 17 of his 22 points after the break and Cal used a big second half to beat San Jose State 88-80 on Friday night.
McNeill, a sophomore guard, drained four 3-pointers in the second half as the Bears (5-6) rebounded from a 22-point loss at Fresno State three nights earlier. Andre Kelly added 21 points and 10 rebounds for Cal and point guard Paris Austin dished a season-high 11 assists, nine in the 58-point second half.
Baumann scores 23, leads San Jose State past NAU 79-74
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Noah Baumann made five 3-pointers and scored 23 points to lead San Jose State to a 79-74 victory over Northern Arizona on Saturday night.
San Jose State (3-6) has won two straight since snapping a six-game skid. Northern Arizona (2-6) has lost five in a row.
Steadman’s late scores gives San Jose State 67-65 win
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Michael Steadman drove for a layup and followed with a free throw in the final seconds to give San Jose State a 67-65 win over Bethune-Cookman on Thursday night to halt a six-game losing skid.
The Spartans (2-6) had not won since beating Life Pacific in the opening game of the season.
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Jaycee Hillsman scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds and San Jose State picked up its first conference win, edging Utah State 64-62 on Wednesday night, snapping a 16-game losing streak.
Ryan Welage added 16 points and six rebounds for the Spartans (4-24, 1-16 Mountain West Conference), who close out their season at Air Force on Saturday. Oumar Barry had nine points and six rebounds and Keith Fisher III had eight points and led the team with nine rebounds.
