It doesn't take as much yelling from coaches when you have a little seasoning and maturity on the roster, qualities that the Wildcats and other top Southeastern Conference teams are banking on to match — or even better — the league's strong 2017-18 season. No. 21 Kentucky beats Vanderbilt 83-81 in overtime
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — After No. 21 Kentucky rallied to force overtime against Vanderbilt, guard Quade Green wasn't surprised he was able to split through two defenders to make the winning basket.
"I just saw an open layup," said Green, whose layup with five seconds left in overtime gave the Wildcats an 83-81 win over the Commodores on Tuesday night.
"I saw the big man was at the top of the key, so he wasn't guarding the row."
Kentucky beats Mississippi State 78-65 to end 2-game slide
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky didn't need to be pretty or dominating, just effective enough at the right times to break out of its recent slump.
