SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Switch-pitcher Pat Venditte has agreed to a one-year contract with the San Francisco Giants.
Venditte made 15 appearances with a 2.57 ERA over 14 innings for the Dodgers last season, so new Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi is plenty familiar with the pitcher.
The Giants announced the 33-year-old Venditte's deal Friday. Zaidi said during last week's winter meetings in Las Vegas that he hoped to complete some signings this week.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Pitcher Tony Cingrani reached agreement on a $2.65 million, one-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday to avoid salary arbitration.
The left-hander made 30 appearances last season and had a 4.76 ERA in 22 2/3 innings with 36 strikeouts.
Cingrani, 29, made two trips to the disabled list last season due to shoulder issues and made only two appearances in September.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Dodgers have acquired left-handed pitcher Adam McCreery from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for cash.
McCreery made his major league debut on Aug. 9 at Washington in his lone appearance with the Braves last season.
He split the majority of the season between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett, where he was a combined 2-5 with a 3.62 ERA in 42 games. He struck out 71 batters in 54 2/3 innings while limiting hitters to a .242 average.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Injured shortstop Dansby Swanson didn't make the Atlanta Braves' roster for the National League Division Series. His replacement is Charlie Culberson, someone familiar to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Braves announced their roster Thursday, hours before the start of Game 1.
DENVER (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated right-hander Ross Stripling from the 10-day disabled list and he will start Thursday night against the Colorado Rockies.
Stripling missed the last nine games with an inflamed right toe. The All-Star will be making his 17th start of the season. He has an 8-3 record with a 2.68 ERA.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dodgers starter Walker Buehler has been pulled from a start with rib soreness, another blow to an injury-depleted Los Angeles pitching staff.
The Dodgers announced Buehler's injury Friday night. Buehler was perfect through four innings against the Atlanta Braves and still cruising with one out in the sixth when manager Dave Roberts and trainer Nathan Lucero went to the mound. After a lengthy discussion, Buehler was pulled. He didn't show any obvious signs of injury.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right-hander Kenta Maeda and infielder Chase Utley on the 10-day disabled list on Wednesday.
Maeda was diagnosed with a mild left hip strain while Utley has a sprained left thumb. Right-hander Carlos Santana and ambidextrous pitcher Pat Venditte were recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Switch-pitcher Pat Venditte is among 22 non-roster players invited to spring training with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The 32-year-old Venditte agreed to a minor league deal in November after he spent the 2017 season pitching for Triple-A Lehigh Valley in the Phillies' organization. He had a 3.36 ERA in 69 2/3 innings of relief.
SEATTLE (AP) — The Philadelphia Phillies have acquired switch-pitcher Pat Venditte from the Seattle Mariners for minor league outfielder Joey Curletta.
The trade was announced Sunday.
The 31-year-old Venditte had pitched three times in spring training for Seattle this year and twice for Italy in the World Baseball Classic.
SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle Mariners bolstered their bullpen by acquiring right-hander Arquimedes Caminero from Pittsburgh and switch-pitcher Pat Venditte from Toronto in a pair of trades Saturday.
Both deals Seattle made were for players to be named later. Seattle will be sending two players to Pittsburgh for Caminero and one to Toronto for Venditte. The Mariners announced Venditte would report to Triple-A Tacoma, while Caminero will report to Seattle.
