CLUJ-NAPOCA, Romania (AP) — Pau Gasol has become the career scoring leader in the EuroBasket tournament.
The San Antonio Spurs center made a 3-pointer in the second quarter of Spain's victory over Hungary on Thursday to give him 1,105 points. He passed Spurs teammate Tony Parker, who scored 1,104 for France in the European championship tournament.
Pau Gasol signs 3-year deal with Spurs
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The San Antonio Spurs have signed Pau Gasol to a three-year contract.
The Spurs announced the signing on Monday. Gasol opted out of the two-year deal he signed last summer to give the Spurs more salary cap flexibility to supplement the roster in free agency. But he always intended to re-sign with San Antonio, where he averaged 12.4 points and 7.8 rebounds in just over 25 minutes per game last season.
A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Pau Gasol has agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
The 7-foot Spaniard and the Spurs came to agreement on Friday on a deal that is partially guaranteed for the third season. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team has not made an official announcement.
Dwight Howard and Brook Lopez are on the move. Dwyane Wade is opting in. Pau Gasol is opting out. The Los Angeles Lakers provided the clearest indication yet that Lonzo Ball is their guy.
The NBA offseason is already in overdrive.

The Spurs announced Dedmon would miss the game Saturday afternoon, more than two hours before tipoff.
Dedmon not only has started all three games of this first-round playoff series, he also started 37 of the 76 games he played. He averaged 1.3 points per game this postseason after averaging 5.1 points and 6.5 rebounds during the regular season.
