It was the second straight victory for Blackwood, giving the Devils their first two-game winning streak since Nov. 13-15. Andy Greene added an empty-netter to seal the win.
Curtis McElhinney made 28 saves for the Hurricanes who have lost four of their last five.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Eddie Lack found fault in a stellar performance that helped the New Jersey Devils win their third consecutive game.
Lack made a career-high 48 saves and the Devils beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 on Saturday night.
"This wasn't my best game by far," Lack said. "Two of those goals, I mean, I didn't make it easy on myself. I felt like the biggest thing for me was just to battle. Coming in I knew I was going to get a lot of shots."

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Two straight road wins had the Devils feeling good about their recent play. Beating the Minnesota Wild to end the road trip solidifies New Jersey's positive feelings.
Beau Bennett scored with 2:17 remaining to lift the Devils to a 4-3 win against Minnesota, which had won 17 of its previous 20 games.
Devils rally twice but fall to Panthers, 4-3, in OT

The Devils fought back twice from two-goal deficits to the Panthers but remained winless away from home as Vincent Trocheck’s goal with 43.4 seconds left in the five-minute overtime on a two-on-one rush gave the Panthers a 4-3 win on Thursday night at BB&T Center.
