Pritchard scores 20 as Oregon beats Stanford 69-46
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Stanford knew exactly who the masked man was at the center of Oregon's defense.
Yet it still didn't matter, as Kenny Wooten blocked more shots than the Cardinal made for most of the first half.
"We were very clear on who he was and what he did," Stanford coach Jerod Haase said, "but we didn't execute the game plan very well."
Pritchard scores 20, Oregon hands Cal 11th straight loss
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — For one game at least, all was well in the basketball world for Oregon's Payton Pritchard.
The result was the second career double-double for the last remaining Duck from the Final Four run two years ago.
Pritchard had 20 points and a career-high 10 rebounds to help Oregon outlast California 73-62 on Wednesday night.
Louis King added 12 points and Paul White and Kenny Wooten each had 11 for the Ducks (14-9, 5-5 Pac-12). Freshman Will Richardson had a season-high nine assists.
Washington holds off Oregon’s late rally for 61-56 win
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — David Crisp knew Washington had the right man at the line with the score tied and mere seconds on the clock.
Still, the senior guard chose his words carefully to describe Husky sophomore Jaylen Nowell's heroics.
Nowell scored 20 points, capped by three free throws with 1.6 seconds left, and Washington weathered a furious Oregon rally to escape 61-56 on Thursday night.
Balanced Sun Devils use big outburst to beat Ducks 78-64
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona State ran away from Oregon with a 19-0 second-half run, and the unquestioned highlight was a monster dunk by Zylan Cheatham over the Ducks' Kenny Wooten.
"He's an elite shot-blocker," Cheatham said, "so I wasn't going to be on the other side of SportsCenter. It was pretty much him or me when I got him in the air and I won this battle."
It was, Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley said, a "statement-type" play in the 78-64 Sun Devils victory.
White scores 16, Oregon holds off Arizona 59-54
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Paul White scored 16 points and Victor Bailey Jr. added 13, helping Oregon hold off Arizona 59-54 Thursday night.
The once-fast Ducks have had to slow down in recent games due to a string of injuries, relying on their defense rather than outscoring opponents.
Oregon (11-6, 2-2 Pac-12) got Kenny Wooten back after missing four games with a broken jaw, though he played limited minutes and star freshman Bol Bol was on the bench in a walking boot.
Amin scored 23 points, helps Oregon beat Boise State 62-50
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Ehab Amin came off the bench to score 23 points and grab a team-high six rebounds to lead Oregon past Boise State 62-50 on Saturday night.
Oregon (9-4), which beat the Broncos 66-54 on Dec. 15, completed a sweep of the rare home-and-home nonconference series with the Broncos and did it with only eight scholarship players.
Baylor wins 57-47 after holding off big comeback by Oregon
WACO, Texas (AP) — Baylor beat its second Pac-12 opponent in a week, helping erase the disappointment that came between those quality wins.
Makai Mason had 14 points with some key second-half baskets as the Bears beat Oregon 57-47 after holding off a big comeback by the Ducks on Friday — six nights after Baylor's impressive win at Arizona and three nights after losing at home on Stephen F. Austin's game-ending layup.
Oregon tops Florida A&M behind Bailey’s 16 points
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A matinee start seemed to catch the wrong team off its game with no excuses.
Fortunately for Oregon, there was enough that went right between falling behind by eight points early and giving up 13 straight at the end for the Ducks to claim a season-high fourth consecutive win.
Victor Bailey Jr. scored 16 points in his first start and Oregon finished a sweep of its four-game homestand by outlasting Florida A&M 71-64 on Tuesday.
Oregon beats Boise State 66-54 without leader Bol Bol
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon took its first game without Bol Bol pretty much in stride.
Just how tall an order it might be playing without the 7-foot-2 freshman star for an extended time wasn't something coach Dana Altman wished to address.
Payton Pritchard had 19 points and five rebounds as Oregon overcame Bol's absence to race past Boise State 66-54 on Saturday night.
"It's a lower leg injury," said Altman, who fended off all inquiries about Bol with the same response. "We'll take it day by day."
Bol, Oregon get past San Diego 65-55
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Ehab Amin let his Oregon teammates know that sleepwalking through another first half was no longer acceptable.
After the Ducks fell behind by nine points, the graduate transfer cut loose during a timeout, and the message hit home.
"It really started with Ehab yelling at us that we've got to put our hands up and play more defense," Bol said.
Bol had 20 points and nine rebounds as Oregon relied on its defense and rebounding to get past San Diego 65-55 on Wednesday night.
Bol Bol leads No. 21 Oregon to 83-72 win over Green Bay
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — The stat sheet doesn't lie, and Oregon coach Dana Altman didn't mince words while ticking off the unsatisfactory numbers even after his team won.
"Our focus, our attention to detail, I didn't think was very good," he said, "and that shows in the percentages, especially in the second half.
"I hope guys will put pressure on themselves so that we can get better after a win."
Bol Bol’s double-double leads No. 14 Oregon over E. Wash.
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Playing alongside highly touted freshman Bol Bol comes with benefits for Oregon's other post players.
"It's been pretty natural trying to adjust, because I can't get all the rebounds," Kenny Wooten said.
Bol had 23 points and 12 rebounds as No 14 Oregon rode its stifling defense to an 81-47 victory over Eastern Washington on Friday night.
Pritchard helps No. 14 Oregon beat Portland State 84-57
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon's first game drew mixed reviews from coach Dana Altman.
The performances by returning starters Payton Pritchard and Paul White were right on cue, but the rest of the Ducks showed some rough spots that need work, especially under the boards.
Pritchard scored 22 points while White added 15 and No. 14 Oregon opened its season by routing Portland State 84-57 victory Tuesday night.
"We took a step in the right direction," Altman said. "It just wasn't smooth the way we like.

Bailey’s 7 3s spark Oregon over Rider 99-86 in NIT
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Freshman Victor Bailey Jr. hit 7 of 8 3-pointers and scored 23 points, both career bests, and Oregon rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Rider 99-86 in a first-round NIT game on Tuesday night.
LAS VEGAS — Oregon will try to forget the first 39 minutes and celebrate the last six.
The Ducks were on the verge of a wire-to-wire upset loss to Washington State but took their first lead in the final minute of regulation and went on to a 64-62 overtime win over the Cougars in the first round of the Pac-12 Conference tournament late Wednesday night at T-Mobile Arena.
The sixth-seeded Ducks (20-12) will face third-seeded Utah (19-10) in the quarterfinals at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Oregon beats Washington State 64-62 in overtime
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Oregon looked nothing like a team fighting for a longshot NCAA Tournament spot. The Ducks struggled with Washington State's physical defense, clanged one shot after another, had a whopping 17 points by halftime.
A little second-half surge got them going. A lot of grit and two big Kenny Wooten blocks got them into the Pac-12 tournament quarterfinals.
Oregon outlasts Washington State in overtime for 64-62 win in first round of Pac-12 Tournament
LAS VEGAS – Payton Pritchard shot Oregon out of an early offensive slump, knocking down four 3-pointers while scoring 18 points to help the Ducks beat Washington State 64-62 in overtime at the Pac-12 Tournament at T-Mobile Arena.
MiKyle McIntosh bulled his way to the rim, scoring another 18 points for Oregon. The Ducks got another 10 from Elijah Brown.
LAS VEGAS — Four games in four days at the Pac-12 Tournament sounds fun to Payton Pritchard.
“I grew up playing every day, so that’s nothing new,” the Oregon sophomore point guard said. “I’d rather do that than take a couple days off. This is what we live for.”
Kenny Wooten trails only Chris Boucher and Jordan Bell for the most blocked shots in a season at Oregon and Monday the freshman joined those two on another list.
The 6-foot-9 Wooten was named to the Pac-12 Conference all-defensive team, an honor that Bell and Boucher earned in each of the past two seasons. Wooten leads the conference and ranks 11th nationally with 2.7 blocks per game.
“We are a much better defensive team with Kenny on the floor,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said.
Pritchard, White help Oregon hold off Washington 72-64
SEATTLE (AP) — Fortunately for the Oregon Ducks, when their offense suddenly disappeared their defense stepped up.
Payton Pritchard scored 14 points and Paul White added 13 as Oregon turned back a late rally by Washington to preserve a 72-64 victory on Saturday to end the Pac-12 Conference regular season.
Washington, which trailed 44-29 at the half, used a 9-2 run to pull within 68-64 with 3:12 remaining, but failed to score the rest of the way.
Roman Sorkin has not been behind a microphone very often at Oregon.
There aren’t many media requests for a senior who averaged 2.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in 71 career games. Sophomore guard Payton Pritchard told a group of reporters before a recent practice that Sorkin wanted to speak, but the 6-foot-10 forward smiled and shook his head back and forth.
For just over six minutes during the second half Sunday, Dana Altman put his four freshmen on the floor with Payton Pritchard.
That group inherited a 55-44 lead over Washington State and stretched the margin to 19 points. The Cougars then scored five straight points before Altman put some veterans back in to seal an 84-57 win over the Cougars.
Oregon’s postgame press conferences have featured some comedy routines.
A couple of blowout wins certainly lighten the mood.
Following Thursday’s 25-point win over Washington, freshman Kenny Wooten admitted to counting his blocked shots during the game, leading classmate Troy Brown to reply: “I’m telling coach that you are padding your stats.”
Pritchard, Brown lead Oregon to 84-57 win over Washington St
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon's sudden sense of urgency is showing in Payton Pritchard's play.
It comes from being the only starter back from last year's Final Four team and how the Ducks need to finish strong to reach the postseason again.
Pritchard had 19 points and 10 assists, and Troy Brown Jr. also had a double-double to lead Oregon past Washington State 84-57 on Sunday night.
Brown scores 21, Oregon stifles Washington 65-40
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Dana Altman is still waiting for his real Oregon team to stand up.
A 60-point swing in outcomes over the past two games left the Ducks' coach at a loss as to their identity.
Troy Brown Jr. scored 21 points and Kenny Wooten had 12 points and seven blocks to lead Oregon past Washington 65-40 on Thursday night.
Five days earlier, the Ducks were blown out by 35 points at Stanford, the worst loss in Altman's eight seasons at Oregon.
After Oregon built a 16-point halftime lead while shooting 65.2 percent from the field, Dana Altman complimented the Ducks on shot selection.
“Then we start the second half with three quick, bad three-pointers and never got in the same rhythm again,” Altman noted.
Oregon banked a large enough lead in the first 20 minutes to survive a drastically different second half and defeat Oregon State 66-57 Saturday night in front of a sellout crowd of 12,364 at Matthew Knight Arena.
Saturday’s Civil War game marks the last time Oregon has a week with just one game.
Payton Pritchard would prefer a busier schedule.
“I don’t like a one-game week,” the Oregon sophomore point guard said. “I’d rather play two, three, four, as many as possible.”
Pritchard has proven that by being on the court for 155 of 160 minutes during Oregon’s past four games, including three where he sat out just one minute.
Pritchard scores 25, Oregon holds off UCLA for 94-91 win
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Oregon's strategy in the final seconds was simple: Foul before UCLA could get off a tying 3-pointer and then get the ball into Payton Pritchard's hands.
The Ducks did both to avoid a fourth home loss before their first sellout crowd of the season.
Pritchard scored 25 points, capped by four free throws in the final 6.7 seconds, to help Oregon hold off UCLA for a 94-91 win on Saturday night.
Payton Pritchard expressed the agony of a loss that could hurt even more come March.
Oregon had another late lead against a Pac-12 favorite before letting one of its final few chances at a quality win get away when USC walked out of Matthew Knight Arena as a winner for the first time with a 75-70 victory over the Ducks Thursday night in front of 9,202.
Oregon received more than half of its offense from its three seniors during last week’s trip to Arizona.
Elijah Brown shared top scoring honors with 18 points in Thursday’s 76-72 win over No. 11 Arizona State and led the Ducks with 25 in a 90-83 loss at No. 17 Arizona on Saturday. MiKyle McIntosh had his best back-to-back performances with 12 points and 13 rebounds against the Sun Devils, followed by 20 points and seven rebounds in a loss to the Wildcats.
Oregon upsets No. 11 Arizona State 76-72
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Oregon has been through its share of disappointments this season after reaching the Final Four last spring, none bigger than a loss to rival Oregon State last week.
A road win over the No. 11 team in the country was just what the Ducks needed and it could get them back on the right track.
Troy Brown, Elijah Brown help Oregon beat Colorado 77-62
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Bouncing back for a home split on the opening weekend of Pac-12 play gave Oregon coach Dana Altman cause for optimism.
But his young Ducks, still smarting from a 10-point loss to Utah, have a long way to go as they hit the conference road for the next two weeks.
Troy Brown had a season-high 21 points and seven rebounds, and Elijah Brown added 17 points to help lead Oregon to a 77-62 victory over Colorado on Sunday night.
Pritchard, McIntosh lead Oregon past Central Arkansas, 96-82
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Giving up 82 points wasn't what Oregon coach Dana Altman had in mind for his team's final game before it opens Pac-12 play.
That message will be driven home when the Ducks return from a four-day break to resume practice on Christmas night.
Payton Pritchard scored 24 points and MiKyle McIntosh had 17 to help lead Oregon to a 96-82 victory over Central Arkansas on Wednesday night.
