TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Terrance Mann and Phil Cofer helped No. 9 Florida State keep its impressive start to the season going and finish its nonconference schedule nearly perfect.
Mann scored a season-high 22 points, Cofer added 14 and the Seminoles beat Winthrop 87-76 Tuesday for their seventh straight victory. Florida State improved to 12-1 for the fourth time in school history.

"We feel that we fell a little short last year," coach Leonard Hamilton said. "We thought we had a chance to get to the Final Four. No one else thought we did, but that's how we felt at the beginning of the year."
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Phil Cofer and Florida State received the news Friday they had been waiting for since the season ended two months ago.
The NCAA informed the school that the senior forward has been granted another year of eligibility.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Ninth-seeded Florida State has lots of guys who can score, and the Seminoles used that depth to win their fourth straight NCAA Tournament opener.

Bagley, No. 4 Duke outlast No. 24 FSU, 100-93
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Marvin Bagley III and Wendell Carter Jr. kept cleaning up plenty of misses for No. 4 Duke. Florida State had no way to stop them, especially down the stretch when the Seminoles' shots stopped falling.
Bagley had 32 points and a season-best 21 rebounds, and the Blue Devils pulled away to beat No. 24 Florida State 100-93 on Saturday.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State struggled for the first 21 minutes of Monday night's game against Charleston Southern, but it found success by playing zone defense and getting to the rim on offense during an 8-minute span in the second half.
The 24th-ranked Seminoles went on a 21-4 run as they defeated the Buccaneers 69-58. Phil Cofer scored 19 points to lead Florida State, which bounced back from its first loss of the season on Saturday against Oklahoma State.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State didn't have much time to savor Monday's win at fifth-ranked Florida.
The Seminoles were playing their second game in three nights but did not have a letdown as they defeated Loyola-Maryland 96-71 on Wednesday.
The win improves to Florida State to 8-0, which is the first time that has happened since the 2003-04 seasons, they it won its first 10 games. All but one of the victories has been by 17 points or more.
