Former colleagues pay tribute to former Vandy AD Williams
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Numerous Vanderbilt officials and former athletes paid tribute to David Williams II on Friday at a funeral for the Southeastern Conference's first black athletic director.
Williams died at the age of 71 on Feb. 8, a week after he had stepped down as Vanderbilt's athletic director.
List of Vols’ violations include Fulmer offering instruction
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has reported a minor NCAA violation that involved athletic director Phillip Fulmer instructing offensive linemen during a football practice.
This was one of eight Level III athletics violations that Tennessee reported over the last six months of 2018. They were obtained through a public records request and first reported by the Knoxville News-Sentinel.
Tennessee delays start of construction on Neyland renovation
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee is delaying the start of construction on a Neyland Stadium renovation project to review all aspects of the plan.
Noting that he's been on the job for less than a year, athletic director Phillip Fulmer announced Thursday that "we simply need time to study all ideas of scope and design" for the project and that delaying it would be "financially prudent."
Tennessee AD Fulmer: Vols ‘working through cultural change’
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee athletic director Phillip Fulmer said the Volunteers' football program is "working through a cultural change" and that he remains confident in first-year coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Tennessee distributed 1,067 free tickets to its game with UTEP to Hurricane Florence evacuees from North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
Volunteers athletic director Phillip Fulmer had announced Wednesday that evacuees would get free tickets as long as they provided IDs showing they're from counties under evacuation orders. Ticket distribution started at 8:30 a.m. for the noon game.

Lady Vols coach Holly Warlick receives contract extension
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee women's basketball coach Holly Warlick has received a three-year contract extension as well as a $25,000 raise.
Athletic director Phillip Fulmer announced Friday that Warlick's contract now runs through the 2021-22 season. Warlick's deal was set to expire at the end of the 2018-19 season.
Her annual pay increased from $665,000 to $690,000.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee plans to honor its 1998 national championship team Sept. 22 when the Volunteers host Florida.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former football coaches Robert Neyland and Phillip Fulmer highlight a star-studded Tennessee Athletics Hall of Fame induction class.
Tennessee announced its eight-person class Thursday.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — University of Tennessee President Joe DiPietro has hired former Volunteers football coach Phillip Fulmer as his special adviser for community, athletics and university relations.
DiPietro announced the hiring Tuesday. The part-time job will pay Fulmer $100,000 per year, plus a monthly allowance of $2,500 to cover expenses not reimbursed by the school. He will also receive eight skybox tickets for each home football game.

Jim Cortner, funeral director at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, Tennessee, confirmed Monday that Fulmer died Sunday at NHC Healthcare in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Tennessee athletic officials also confirmed that she had died after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
