SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers have placed receiver Pierre Garcon on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.
The 49ers signed safety Tyree Robinson from Dallas' practice squad to a two-year deal on Tuesday to replace Garcon on the active roster. San Francisco also signed tight end Marcus Lucas to the practice squad.
Josh McCown goes again for Jets with Darnold still sidelined
Josh McCown is starting his third straight game for the New York Jets against the Tennessee Titans with rookie quarterback Sam Darnold out again because of an injured foot.
Darnold returned to practice this week. But the rookie was limited, and the Jets are giving him another week to heal up.
Seattle will be without starting defensive tackle Shamar Stephen against San Francisco. Stephen was listed as questionable with a foot injury. Seattle also is without defensive end Rasheem Green.
49ers rule WRs Goodwin, Garcon out for Seahawks game
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers will once again be without receivers Marquise Goodwin and Pierre Garcon.
Coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Goodwin will miss this weekend's game at Seattle because he is dealing with a serious family issue and Garcon will be out with a knee injury. Goodwin is missing his second straight game and Garcon will be out for the third straight game.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is doubtful to play Sunday in the 49ers' game at Tampa Bay, having been excused to handle a personal matter.
The team made the announcement Saturday that Goodwin had left the team. San Francisco (2-8) also promoted running back Jeff Wilson Jr. from the practice squad to the active roster while waiving quarterback Tom Savage.
49ers promote RB Matthew Dayes from practice squad
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers have promoted running Matthew Dayes to the active roster from the practice squad and waived defensive back Tyvis Powell.
Dayes was active for Monday night's game against the New York Giants in place of the injured Raheem Mostert.
49ers rule WR Pierre Garcon out for game vs. Cardinals
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco 49ers receiver Pierre Garcon will miss Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals with injuries to his shoulder and knee.
The 49ers said Saturday that Garcon had been downgraded from doubtful to out for the game at Arizona.
Garcon has 21 catches for 230 yards and no touchdowns in seven games this season.
49ers RB Matt Breida questionable for game vs. Packers
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida is questionable for Monday night's game against the Green Bay Packers because of shoulder and ankle injuries.
Breida was limited in practice on Saturday and will be a game-time decision at Green Bay. He is sixth in the league in rushing with 369 yards.
Rookie wide receiver Pettis in for Goodwin for 49ers
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — With Marquise Goodwin being ruled out for Sunday's game against Detroit, San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Dante Pettis is slated for his first NFL start.
Coach Kyle Shanahan made that announcement Friday after Goodwin missed the entire week of practice with a bruised thigh suffered in last week's loss at Minnesota.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco newcomer Richard Sherman will miss the next week of training camp and the 49ers' preseason opener after straining a hamstring in practice Friday.
"We're definitely going to rest him at least a week," 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Saturday. "We don't think it should be long term. It's Grade 1, it's a little higher than we expected so we got to be careful with that."

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers will place leading receiver Pierre Garcon on injured reserve for the remainder of the season with a broken bone in his neck.
The 49ers (0-8) said Thursday that Garcon has a non-displaced fracture of the C5 pedicle. The typical rehabilitation time for that type of injury is eight weeks.

49ers release receiver Bruce Ellington
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The 49ers decided to move on from Bruce Ellington. The third-year receiver was waived Thursday after a week of training camp practices under new coach Kyle Shanahan.
"Bruce had done a good job with us but we had a bunch of guys who were very similar in their skill set," Shanahan said. "I thought, give Bruce a chance to go somewhere else. He handled everything great."
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Kirk Cousins knew he recognized the guy at the Cleveland rest stop last summer who was trying to blend in with the crowd.
