MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) — A former central Iowa high school educator who taught for 30 years has been imprisoned for distributing child pornography.
The Times-Republican reports that Glen Sedlacek, of Marshalltown, was sentenced Thursday to 11 years in federal prison. He'd pleaded guilty in October after prosecutors dropped two other counts.
Massachusetts Gov. Baker files bill targeting “revenge porn”
BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is re-filing a bill aimed at cracking down on pornographic images published by people seeking revenge against former lovers while offering diversion programs for teenagers who post explicit pictures or videos online.
Under the bill, minors found to be sending explicit images of peers would be enrolled in an educational diversion program rather than go through the juvenile justice process.

Officials: New Zealand man charged in bid to meet teen
GOOCHLAND, Va. (AP) — Federal officials have charged a New Zealand man who authorities say was shot while trying to break into a Virginia home after having online contact with a 14-year-old girl.
Troy George Skinner was charged in a criminal complaint last week with coercion and enticement, and production of child pornography.
Authorities have said Skinner was shot by the teen's mother after arriving uninvited in June and smashing a glass door to try to get inside.
Ex-head of juvenile detention sites faces child porn charges
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A former head of two Alaska juvenile detention facilities has been charged with possession of child pornography.
Federal prosecutors announced the charge Wednesday against 54-year-old Dennis Weston.

German appeals court says Google doesn’t have to check links
BERLIN (AP) — A top German appeals court has ruled Google does not have to check the content of pages it links to for possible legal violations before providing search results.
The dpa news agency reported the Federal Court of Justice ruled Tuesday that Google does, however, have to react when "concrete evidence" of violations of law, such as child pornography or acts of violence, are reported.
Prominent Iowa AAU coach out amid pornography investigation
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Police are investigating whether an elite Iowa youth basketball coach took video recordings of nude teenagers without their knowledge after a source gave them an electronic device containing child pornography, investigators said Friday.
JUNEAU — A 53-year-old Waupun man pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday to 10 counts of possession of child pornography after monitoring systems found suspicious images were downloaded to his computer.

Nazis, Stormy Daniels topics in Florida’s pornography bill
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A Democratic Florida lawmaker tried using Nazis, guns and porn star Stormy Daniels, among other topics, to try to thwart a proposed resolution recognizing pornography as a health risk.
Rep. Jared Moskowitz filed nine amendments to the resolution on Wednesday as it was heard in its final committee stop. Among them were amendments recognizing Nazis, various diseases, gun violence and Daniels as health risks.
Reddit bans ‘deepfakes,’ pornography using the faces of celebrities
Reddit this week banned "deepfake" pornography - fake celebrity porn videos created with face-swapping technologies - and shut down the community of the same name, becoming the third major internet platform this week to crack down on the increasingly popular clips.
"This community has been banned," the former deepfakes subreddit page reads. "This subreddit was banned due to a violation of our content policy, specifically our policy against involuntary pornography."
Kansas Senators pass resolution condemning porn
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — The Kansas Senate has approved a resolution condemning pornography, saying it causes infidelity and erectile dysfunction.
The Wichita Eagle reports that measure passed Tuesday on a 35-4 vote. The resolution has no legal effect. The House passed a similar measure last year.
