SAO PAULO (AP) — Prosecutors have seized three luxury cars and a painting in connection with an environmental case against the Ronaldinho Institute in the southern Brazilian city of Porto Alegre.
The prosecutor's office of Rio Grande do Sul state said in a statement on Thursday that the assets belonged to former Brazil and Barcelona forward Ronaldinho's brother-agent Roberto de Assis.

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Brazil's Gremio won the prestigious Copa Libertadores for the third time in its history with a 2-1 victory at Argentina's Lanus on Wednesday night.
After a 1-0 victory in Porto Alegre last week, Gremio secured the South American crown with goals by midfielders Fernandinho at 28 minutes and Luan at 45.
Lanus' Jose Sand scored from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute.

SAO PAULO (AP) — Midfielder Cicero came off the bench to score in the 83rd minute and Brazil's Gremio beat Argentina's Lanus 1-0 on Wednesday night in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final in Porto Alegre.
If the Southern Brazilian team holds off the Argentinians in Buenos Aires in the La Fortaleza stadium next Wednesday they will win their third South American crown. The last was in 1995.
Gender diversity art show closed over protests in Brazil
SAO PAULO (AP) — An art exhibition on gender diversity was cancelled in Brazil in response to a social media campaign by conservative groups that accused the show and the bank sponsoring it of promoting blasphemy, pedophilia and bestiality.
Among the criticized artworks are a box of Roman Catholic sacramental wafers labeled with the words for sexual parts and a painting of two children suggesting one is a transvestite and the other is gay.
Ex-husband of Brazil’s former President Rousseff dies at 79
SAO PAULO (AP) — Carlos Franklin Paixao Araujo, ex-husband of Brazilian former President Dilma Rousseff, has died in a hospital at age 79.
The Sao Francisco Hospital in the southern city of Porto Alegre says Araujo died Saturday of complications related to cirrhosis. It did not give further details.
Araujo was a labor lawyer and a former state legislator for the Democratic Labor Party.

Images in local media show streets inundated with water early Sunday in Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul state. The state posted a photo on its website showing houses crushed in the overnight storm.
