Montgomery and Gurley both kept Rodgers on the sideline
Ty Montgomery gets the Bonehead Award for Week 8 for keeping Aaron Rodgers on the sideline.
Todd Gurley gets the Egghead Award for Week 8 for keeping Aaron Rodgers on the sideline.
Ensuring Green Bay's clutch quarterback stayed off the field after Greg Zuerlein hit a 34-yard field goal with 2:05 left allowed the Los Angeles Rams to remain the league's only unbeaten team with a 29-27 win Sunday.
Wilson’s big hit sends Rams to 8-0 with 29-27 win over Pack
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ramik Wilson was not the most likely candidate on the Los Angeles Rams' superstar-laden roster to make the decisive play late in the fourth quarter of a tight game with Green Bay.
Yet there went the backup linebacker, flying downfield on kickoff coverage and clobbering Ty Montgomery to force a fumble that he recovered himself.
"It was one of the biggest collisions I've been in," Wilson said. "So we both felt it, and he fumbled."
Rams rally to beat Packers to stay unbeaten
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Greg Zuerlein hit a 34-yard field goal with 2:05 left and Ramik Wilson forced and recovered Ty Montgomery's fumble on the ensuing kickoff return, allowing the Los Angeles Rams to remain unbeaten without a late defensive stand in a 29-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Jared Goff passed for 295 yards and three touchdowns while the Rams (8-0) were sternly tested by the Packers (3-3-1) and Aaron Rodgers, who threw for 286 yards.
Late fumble keeps Rams unbeaten with 29-27 win over Packers
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Aaron Rodgers can't lead a game-winning drive if he never gets the ball.
That was the whole idea when Los Angeles' Ramik Wilson forced a fumble from Green Bay's Ty Montgomery on a late kickoff return. That was also Todd Gurley's thought moments later when he stopped running with a clear path to the end zone, keeping Rodgers stuck on the sideline in the unbeaten Rams' eighth victory.
LB Mark Barron inactive for Rams vs. Raiders
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Rams linebacker Mark Barron is inactive for the season opener against the Oakland Raiders with an Achilles tendon injury.
Ramik Wilson is expected to start in Barron's place Monday night.
The other inactive players for the Rams are quarterback Brandon Allen, running backs Justin Davis and John Kelly, linebacker Trevon Young, and defensive tackles Sebastian Joseph-Day and Tanzel Smart.
IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — With 17 career starts in three seasons, Los Angeles Rams inside linebacker Ramik Wilson might not look like a grizzled veteran.
However, at a position where the second and third-most experienced players have combined for six career starts and the other three are rookies, the 25-year-old Wilson certainly qualifies.
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a one-year contract with inside linebacker Ramik Wilson.
The Rams announced the deal Thursday night.
Wilson spent his first three NFL seasons with Kansas City, making 112 tackles. He started 11 games for the Chiefs in 2016, but saw less playing time last season.

Chargers cornerback Hayward active for game vs Chiefs
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Chargers cornerback Casey Hayward is active for Los Angeles' crucial AFC West showdown Saturday night with the Kansas City Chiefs after a calf injury landed him on this week's injury report.
Hayward had been questionable for the matchup between 7-6 teams tied atop the division.
Chiefs defensive end Tamba Hali is active after missing practice with his chronically ailing knees, while linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (quad) and safety Eric Murray (ankle) are also available.
Bowman set to make debut for Raiders vs. Chiefs
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Linebacker NaVorro Bowman is active for his debut with the Oakland Raiders just three days after signing with the team.
Bowman is slated to play Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. Bowman was released last Friday by San Francisco and signed with Oakland on Monday.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs signed veteran linebacker Josh Mauga, who missed all of last season with a hip injury, and former Seattle safety Steven Terrell on Thursday.
The Chiefs created roster space for him by waiving punter Will Monday.
Mauga started 30 games for the Chiefs in 2014 and '15, but an offseason injury forced him onto the injured reserve list last August. Ramik Wilson wound up starting in his place.
Chiefs place linebacker Derrick Johnson on injured reserve
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs placed veteran linebacker Derrick Johnson on injured reserve Saturday after he ruptured his Achilles tendon last week, and elevated defensive lineman David King from the practice squad.
Kansas City plays the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
Trades, injuries lead Chiefs to make roster moves
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Rarely are teams forced to make wholesale roster changes in the middle of the season, and those that do usually aren't coming off arguably their best performance in weeks.
The Kansas City Chiefs did precisely that this week.
Chiefs claim Sam Barrington, Bryan Witzmann off waivers
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Chiefs claimed linebacker Sam Barrington and offensive tackle Bryan Witzmann off waivers Sunday and made roster space for them by waiving linebacker Ramik Wilson and offensive lineman Jordan Devey.
Barrington had been with the Packers and Witzmann had been with the Cowboys.
