CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wintry weather has closed Interstate 80 across much of Wyoming.
The road is closed in both directions from Rawlins to Rock Springs and eastbound from Evanston to U.S. 189. The Wyoming Department of Transportation says those sections of highway are unlikely to reopen until Thursday night.
Other roads closed due to snow and blowing snow include Wyoming 28 from Lander to Farson, Wyoming 789 north of Baggs, U.S. 287 north of Rawlins and U.S. 30 from Bosler to Walcott Junction.
Former Wyoming prison worker gets probation
RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) — A 31-year-old former Wyoming State Penitentiary worker has received probation for having a sexual relationship with an inmate in 2015.
Shantell Ann Wyant was given a three-year suspended sentence by District Judge Dawnessa Snyder last week in Rawlins after being found guilty of three felony counts of sexual assault last September.
Accidental firearm discharge at Wyoming hunter ed course
RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says no one was hurt in an accidental discharge of a firearm during a hunter education class in Rawlins.
The incident occurred Monday evening while instructors were preparing firearms for the hands-on portion of the class being held at the Department of Corrections Training Facility.
Game and Fish says it is conducting a review of the incident and will take appropriate action when the review is complete.

2 Colorado residents die in Wyoming accident
RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) — A 49-year-old Colorado man and his 10-year-old daughter have died in a wreck in southern Wyoming.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the accident occurred shortly after midnight Friday near Walcott Junction on Interstate 80 when a car rear-ended a truck that had stopped on the side of the highway.
The patrol identified the victims as Leserio Garcia, of Windsor, Colorado, and his daughter, Payton Garcia Edman.
Wyoming city to keep money in bank despite fuels controversy
RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) — The city of Rawlins has decided to keep municipal funds at Bank of the West after the bank announced it would no longer do business with companies that it perceives as detrimental to the environment.
The Rawlins Times reports the city council voted 5-1 last week to keep an estimated $9 million at the bank.

RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) — A 19-year-old Indiana man has died after reportedly falling from rocks while climbing with a friend in southern Wyoming.
The Rawlins Daily Times reports that Carbon County Coroner Paul Zamora identified the victim as Justin Siler, of Indianapolis.
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A Laramie attorney has become the first Democratic Party candidate for Wyoming's lone U.S. House seat now held by Republican Liz Cheney.
Travis Helm is a native of the small city of Rawlins who graduated from the University of Wyoming law school and specializes in immigration law.
He is the only announced Democrat for the congressional seat.
RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) — The state of Wyoming is sending 60 of its state penitentiary inmates to a prison in another state because of overcrowding and other concerns.
State Corrections Department Director Bob Lampert says in a statement that the penitentiary in Rawlins needs space to absorb new inmates coming into the system.
In addition, Lampert says the prison needs flexibility in case repairs of ongoing structural problems at the facility require closing a housing unit.
