TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The University of Arizona swimming and diving program has been placed on two years' probation by the NCAA after an investigation found multiple recruiting violations by former diving coach Omar Ojeda.
Ojeda was also given a one-year "show-cause" order. During that time, any NCAA school that employs him must restrict him from any athletic duties.
The NCAA said then-head swimming and diving coach Rick DeMont knew of Ojeda's activities and failed to act.

Ollie says in court documents filed Tuesday in federal court that he was treated differently from former coach Jim Calhoun, who wasn't fired despite incurring recruiting violations. Ollie says that the university has illegally tried to deter him from filing a racial discrimination complaint.

The University of Oregon has admitted to seven rules violations in four athletic programs, but the athletic department said it will contest the severity of those infractions with the NCAA. The governing body of college athletics has informed the school that it considers the violations at the second-highest of four levels of infractions.
Oregon self-reported three violations in men’s basketball, two in women’s basketball and one apiece in track and field and football.

The newspaper reported Tuesday that Davis was paid $316,666.66 on Aug. 19. He resigned on April 28.
