Georgia LB Roquan Smith delivers late in Rose Bowl comeback
PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith expected to make the Rose Bowl his home after originally committing to UCLA.
In his only game at the fabled stadium, Smith still made an impression by earning defensive player of the game honors in the Bulldogs' 54-48 double-overtime win over Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
No. 3 Georgia starters Thompson, Godwin return from injuries
ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Two key starters, defensive tackle Trenton Thompson and wide receiver Terry Godwin, have returned to practice for No. 3 Georgia in its bye week.
Thompson has missed two games with a right knee injury. Godwin left last Saturday's 53-28 win over Missouri with injured ribs.
Also, outside linebacker Davin Bellamy has shed the club he wore to protect a broken bone in his left hand.
No. 5 Georgia LB Patrick misses game after marijuana arrest
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Starting linebacker Natrez Patrick didn't travel with the fifth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs after his second arrest on marijuana charges in three years.
His backup Reggie Carter and defensive tackle Trenton Thompson missed the game because of injuries. Juwan Taylor replaced Patrick in the starting lineup.
