ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — First baseman Justin Bour and the Angels have finalized a $2.5 million, one-year contract, giving Los Angeles depth while Albert Pujols recovers from surgery.
Bour can earn an additional $500,000 in performance bonuses based on plate appearances under the deal announced Saturday: $125,000 each for 350, 400, 450 and 500.

NEW YORK (AP) — About a half-hour before the first pitch, the Philadelphia Phillies learned the New York Mets had scratched major league ERA leader Jacob deGrom because of a steady rain forecast for all afternoon.

NEW YORK (AP) — Aaron Nola and the Phillies needed a big hit. Rhys Hoskins came through at just the right time.
A slumping Hoskins launched a tiebreaking home run in the eighth inning to make Nola a winner, and Philadelphia edged the New York Mets 4-3 on Friday night.
"Rhys' homer was huge. Man, was that enormous," Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said. "It injected a lot of life, it injected a lot of enthusiasm into the dugout."
