NEW YORK (AP) — Manny Machado has sure hands — even when it comes to snagging bats near the on-deck circle.

ST. PETERBURG, Fla. (AP) — Kevin Gausman pitched six strong innings, Adam Jones homered and the Baltimore Orioles sent the Tampa Bay Rays to their season-worst fifth straight loss, 5-0 Monday night.
The Rays began the day tied for the second AL wild-card spot. Baltimore won for the sixth time in eight games.
Gausman (7-7) gave up five hits and struck out eight. He has permitted seven hits over 13 scoreless innings in two starts this season against Tampa Bay.
NEW YORK (AP) — Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis has been removed from Sunday's starting lineup against the Yankees, two days after he was hit on the right elbow by a pitch from New York's CC Sabathia.
Davis was in the original lineup batting fifth. Trey Mancini took over at first base and was dropped down one slot.
Bothered by elbow soreness, Davis is 0 for 7 since he was hit.

Bleier had a 1.96 ERA in 23 games for the Yankees last season. He was designated for assignment last week when New York finalized a contract with first baseman Chris Carter.
